I'm kinda surprised they're a metal band since this is the tracklisting.

Quote:
1. Memoryhouse - When You Sleep
2. Jeff Buckley - I Know Its Over
3. Mum - Moon Pulls
4. Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes
5. Bob Dylan - Girl from the North Country
6. Beatles - Anna (Go To Him)
7. Skeeter Davis - The End of the World
8. Morrissey - Seasick, Yet Still Docked
9. Chelsea Wolfe - Dreamer
10. Neil Young - Philadelphia

Lee Noble: Horrorism

Still sorting through all the things I really liked in 2011. Was really a good year. This slice of moody atmospheric drone pop hit the spot and keeps getting plays. Really top notch for this sort of thing. A great vinyl package and I really like the cover art. There's a sample track posted at the label's site: http://batheticrecords.com/horrorism/

Le Tigre

Kathleen Hannah of Bikini Kill goes pop during the post riot grrrl days. Just a great album from start to finish that melds jagged rock with new wave pop. Deceptacon is a classic track as is What's Your Take on Cassavetes. A really great album.

L.A.-based alternative country Americana duo Big Harp are comprised of husband and wife Chris Senseney and Stefanie Drootin. Both had been active in bands on the Omaha indie scene -- Senseney as part of the group Art in Manila while Drootin performed with the Good Life, Bright Eyes, Azure Ray, She & Him, and others -- when they met, fell in love, and began raising a family. Music was never far from the center of things, though, and the pair recorded a debut album, White Hat, with Rilo Kiley's Pierre de Reeder over a three-day stint in L.A. The album appeared in the fall of 2011 from Saddle Creek Records.

RIYL: Nick Cave, Firewater, Townes Van Zandt

What did you think of this? I love it, but our tastes don't often intersect.

Yeah... I'm not feeling it. Musically it's pretty cool, but the vocals and lyrics really bug me.
