I pretty well agree with the four #1 seeds. I don't think that the committee could give 3 #1's to the ACC and with Duke winning the tourney, they got the nod over Wake.

Big ups to Washington.

Memo to Kentucky: Dont get your ass kicked by Florida

Possibility of Duke vs. UNC in the National semifinal? Awesome.

Louisville at 4, Ga Tech at 5 and Pitt at 9?

This is a tough bracket.

Hey Mike -
Congrats indeed to your huskies - they were awesome last night. In fact pretty much every game I watched this weekend was awesome - that Darius Washington kid bricking his free throws against Louisville was pretty brutal. Speaking of Louisville, they got screwed with a #4 - especially since they'll have to play Georgia Tech in the 2nd round. My Utes should be able to take care of UTEP in a 1st round retro-WAC matchup. March Madness is the best.

WOO-HOO!! Let it begin!!!

Huge props to Washington and I'm glad the committe had the balls to give them the #1 they deserve. They're shit-hot.

A little surprised about Louisville with the #4 though--thought they'd pull out a 3 at least. Respect to NCST for coming on strong in their last 3 games and getting in. Florida obviously made the committe happy cos they made up a crapload of ground to be at #4.

On first glance Syracuse regional seems the easiest while Albuquerque looks like a load. But overall it all looks pretty evenly spread out talent wise.

And finally, I'm so happy OU's a #3--I was afraid they'd slap us with a 4. And if we get past the first two, it will be awesome to be in Austin for the next couple.

SOLID!

Yeah, Jerry, I thought the Utes got slighted with the 6 seed---should've been a 5. A tough matchup for them vs. Oklahoma in round 2.

Agreed, the Utes could make it to the Great 8 or even the Final Four if they get past Oklahoma in the 2nd round. *Upset Alert* of course Oklahoma could win the whole damn thing as well; ive seen some bits and pieces of them and they look tough....

Agreed - Oklahoma does look really good, but they have looked beatable in several games as well. In fact, I don't know if I'm just paying more attention this year, but you could make a real arguement for so many teams this year - pretty much all of the 1's and 2's have looked unbeatable at times, but they've all taken losses as well. This bracket's going to be murder. As far as upsets, look at New Mexico - they are red-hot and looked awesome beating the Utes in the conference championship game.

LOL, just circled them as a potential spoiler

POTENTIAL FIRST ROUND UPSETS:

Nevada(9) over Texas8

Penn(13) over B.C.(4) (something is wrong with B.C.)

UAB(11) over LSU(6)

New Mexico(12) over Villanova(5)

First draft has Illinois beating Oklahoma for all the marbles...

I like New Mexico a lot. Granger is no joke as we know him in these parts from Bradley. Ohio should give Florida their annual rite of passage: a first round loss. Old Dominion will give Michigan St. all they want...

The Syracuse bracket is the toughest, followed by Albequerque, Chicago and Austin.

I think my Jayhawks shoulda been a #2, not a #3...but I'm not losing sleep over it.

What DID bug me is Kentucky getting a #2 - we beat them AT their house this season, WITHOUT Wayne Simien. Weak.

Hah, I was sort of on national TV today, the station I work for was covering the selection party for EKU. Needless to say, they are psyched to be playing Kentucky. I, however, am pissed. This means that, no matter who wins that game, one of my favorite teams loses. And I have to make a choice between my beloved Wildcats and the school I'll be graduating from in May.

But Kentucky, despite getting there asses kicked today, have a decent shot at the Final Four with their draw. I'd rather be a 2 seed in Duke's bracket than a 1 seed with an OK State or Arizona looming.

I wouldn't. OK St. and AZ are two of the three most overrated teams all year (the other being Kansas).

Although, why is it that Duke gets the easiest road every time? KY and OK are tough... but c'mon. The other regions are way stacked.

Initially, I was surprised by how many people had Syracuse coming out of that region, but I guess it makes sense the more I think about it. I mean I LOVE watching Redick (guys like him and Stoudamire from Arizona that can freaking bomb it from anywhere and surprise you if they miss are so exciting to watch), but if he does have an off night and/or any of Duke's "big" guys get in foul trouble and they're hating it. And as for Syracuse, Warrick is a freak and McNamara can shoot the lights out too. Hard to argue against them.
