Sorry Cubs fans...this is a replay of last year

Irritation of his ulner nerve and he's shut down for a little while

no word as to whether he'll miss regular season time

the radio station said that the organization shut him down today, so I'm assuming that he DID NOT respond to some of these tests they are indicating in the article

Every year they find new ways to break my heart.

and they let Clement get away.

This is a rough start. Maddux and Zambrano'll be pitching every third day at this rate.

That's what you get when you want to throw ball 100 mph consistently. Maybe they should work on placement.

Kerry Wood is a joke. When is the last time he wasn;t hurt for opening day Little League 1987!

When all else fails, think of the KC Royals. Shit, I don't think they could beat my hometown 17-yr old Rotary club.

At least the Royals won the series as recently as 1985.
The Cubs? 1909.

This pretty much assures Borowski'll start at Closer this year - not because he's better than Dempster, but because they'll need to put both Hawkins and Dempster in the starting rotation...

Wait - my Obner fantasy draft isn't for 2 weeks.... I've said too much...

Yeah, could be Dempster and maybe Glenden R (still on the Cubs?) as a fifth if Wood and Prior are both out to start the season.

this is so shitty. the cubs will downplay the injury, saying they're optimistic they will be fine in time for the start of the season, and in reality they won't pitch until June. motherfucker

As a braves fan I'm completely terrified that Smoltz won't hold up as a starter and will fuck his arm up. Few if any pitchers have been able to go from 70 innings in a year to over 200 and not get hurt at some point. I hope I'm wrong.
