So, The Zombies are playing a show near me at the end of July.
Question is: is it worth it to go? Normally I am not one for nostalgia shows, especially from the Baby Boomer generation (my parents' generation).
But this is The Zombies!
Not sure how much tickets are (which will be a factor), but...
Anyone seen 'em recently? Is it just Blunstone and Argent with young ringers, or is it the band?
Worth it?
Would you go?

I've seen them twice, but both times were over 5 years ago. I don't think that would necessarily count as "recently" but given the age of the band maybe it should. As much as you like Odyssey & Oracle and given the fact that it was essentially their only album, I don't know why you wouldn't go. They were very good live and I don't imagine that Blunstone has fallen apart in the last five years. He sounded great both times I saw him. Given their limited amount of material, they played a whole lot of O&O, some of Blunstone's solo work, some of Argent (the weakest material), and a few bsides/non-album singles. I can't recall if the band was all original or not. I think it was all older folks though that had played with them for years. I vaguely remember the drummer being a former member (touring?) of the Kinks. Really though, who the non-Blunstone/Argent members are shouldn't matter that much.

Just go Todd. You won't regret it. I don't really quite get the nostalgia show knock either. I wouldn't recommend going to see the Turtles or Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork playing Monkees songs but why would you want to pass up a chance to see an old favorite? These are the types of shows I make a priority to go see before I lose the opportunity.

Looks like The Left Banke are opening for a couple of shows on the West Coast, at least. Still no word on the opener here.
If it's the same, I am as good as there.

And if they make posts on internet forums with info as irrelevant as Stu's, skip their posts.
