This Yuck album always evokes some pretty hardcore nostalgia in me. Sounds almost TOO much like the 90s for me. Or, at least MY 90s.

Digitalis Recordings: Born Again for the First Time
Label sampler from Digitalis, celebrating the launch of their redesigned website. If you're at all into odd synth stuff, experimental music, and mostly the gentler side of noise music Digitalis has a ton of great stuff for you. This sampler is a great way to jump in because it has fresh material from a lot of label artists like Discoverer, Panabrite, Hobo Cubes and many more, right around 2 hours of music. And, it is available at name your price/free, in whatever format you want, even FLAC. A great way to see what the label is about and pick out something to explore further.

I've been meaning to check out NRBQ for years now, but have just never gotten around to it.
Time to start actively looking for them at Half-Price Books.

I avoided hearing it (just had no interest) until just recently, and I think it's surprisingly pretty decent.

I still don't like the Bon Iver thing, and the last track is pretty stupid/annoying, but most of it is fine. At least that's how I feel after two listens. I could see a lot of it getting a little grating after a while.

Found these and having fun playing them...

A Run DMC Walk this Way/King of Rock 45 and a couple pic discs. The badge is, of course, The Police: Do Doo Do Doo and Don't Stand So Close to Me, and the potato head is J. Geils Band: Centerfold and Freeze Frame. Fun stuff.

What's the verdict? I have a penchant for Gallon Drunk but the last one I REALLY liked was 'In The Long Still Night'.

I love finding stuff like this. I recently found that Run DMC 45 as well and gave it to my daughter.

Dusty Springfield - Wishin' and Hopin'

From what I can tell, this is kind of a greatest hits type album, released in 1970 on Pickwick. I'd never really sought out anything of hers beyond Dusty In Memphis, but I saw this in a thrift store and picked it up. I am very glad I did. Her voice is excellent, especially for this type of music (blue eyed soul/pop). It has some of her hits, and some songs I had never heard, but I really do enjoy them. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of her stuff.
