Chicago band that I just discovered and am really digging.
Muscular punk/post-punk stuff that is RIYL: The Strokes, Parquet Courts, with an SST influence and more Midwest muscle.
I know that it's early, but first impressions tell me that this record might be sticking around when I am making my best of 2014 list this year. Maybe not at the top, but I can't see myself NOT still digging it.

Seriously digging it. A top-5 of the year. And GREAT guitar playing all over this thing.

New album out on 1/31.
Just got a pre-release download and will be writing a review for The Active Listener.
Will have my first listen next.

You still might like 'em.
Great guitar player. Voice sounds a bit like Mark E. Smith (The Fall) and he does a lot of that sort of half-sing/half-shout thing. But there is a def. CBGBs kind of vibe, too.
The new album, however, adds a bit of psych and surf to the sound as well. It might be even better than their previous one.

It's something I say when I'm looking for adjectives.

I really dig the laconic vocals, for me bog standard guitars.

Great review Todd. It tells a lot about what the band sounds like. Sometimes, I read a review and I have no idea what to expect.

These guys remind me of Lime Spiders, with a little Hoodoo Gurus thrown in. Sometimes, though , soaked in reverb gets to be a little much.
