While painting my kitchen last night, I was listening to Blondie's Parallel Lines, and it struck me that the song "Pretty Baby" could very well have been written about my dog Bean, who is just about the cutest dog I have ever seen/owned. Then I thought, what would be the song to describe my psychotic black lab Loon? "The Perfect Girl" by the Cure.

Anybody got songs in their head that totally fit their pet's personality?

Incidentally, I had a friend who had a dog with separation anxiety, and she said that her dog's theme song would have to be "I Try" by Macy Gray (is that what it's called? The lyrics go "I try to say goodbye and I choke, try to walk away and I stumble, even though I hide it, it's clear, my world crumbles when you are not here")

this is so disturbing. do you have a sweater with satin appliques of the silhouette of your dog hot-glued to it?

No offense intended to anyone, but people with more than like 2 cats freak me out...big time.

Not to mention, single men who own cats are nothing but closet fags.

Really? There's a guy I eat lunch with occasionally that has cats and is single. Hmmm....

Sorry ayah, but it's just weird to me. Maybe it's my lack of pet owning that influences my thinking. Then again, I don't think the same thing about owning more than 2 dogs...so I don't know. BTW, lesbians kick ass if they're all like you.

Single men who own cats aren't fags chris. They're just commitment phobic. HAHAHAHA! I'm kidding. I know plenty of men who own cats and are nothing even remotely close to be interested in other men. They just like the freedom a dog can't give you.

Spencer, having more then two cats isn't weird. It's called loving animals.

I grew up in a house full of tons of animals and so I've almost always had at least two.

We have two cats and if our place was a little bigger we'd adopt a third. Mainly because we have a lot of love to give to them, and with our schedule we can't be home a lot for a dog. Plus they're furry and cute and they curl up on your head when you're sleeping.

Our one yr old talks constantly. He'll have a conversation with josh whenver he walks in the door. It's a stitch.

Jen, you haven't entered the realm of weird yet if you own less than 3 cats. Once you own 3 cats you begin to look like this: Image

Yeah but it's not like I'm the lonely spinster. I'm married now. So they're his cats too. And it was his idea to get the third.

dear lord, don't apologize to me. i had my lesbian membership card revoked ages ago. i actively dislike cats. i have always been a dog person (count me in as a major german shepherd fan) but right now i'm a no pet, no plant, no responsiblity except for my kids person.

i will never understand the overly multiple pet thing--that's just a farm.

Oh I don't doubt that dear, because my doggie would make you love her. I mean, you'd hate her, but you'd love her.

Agreed; in fact my boy Herschel here was disturbed to be brought into the kitchen for such nonsense as a picture...
