I always like this song "Blonde on Blonde" that they play on KEXP; any reccomendations, thoughts, etc?

The last album wasn't too bad, the one on Barsuk, and they've been pretty good when I've caught them live...

Let Go which has "Blonde On Blonde" on it is pretty badass. If I can find it, AIM me and I'll let you have it.

Boring pop band as far as I'm concerned. If you want, I can send you the CDs I have by them. I've been looking to unload them.

I'm one of the big advocates I think on this board (cmj) for this band. I think "Let Go" was the opposite of "ok" (perfect would be my word) and they are far from boring. Pick up "Let Go" and then we'll go from there.

I love their entire catalog, but I've loved them since Popular.

"Let Go" is bad to the bone. It also has "Happy Kid", "Fruit Fly", "Hi-Speed Soul" and "Blizzard of '77"

Their first album "High/ Low" which had one MTV hit, "Popular" is terrible.

I was very surprised "Let Go" wasn't on more best of lists in '03 or '04, whenever you picked it up. A definite big jump in the maturity level of Proximity Effect to Let Go.


Are Nada Surf and Superdrag really in the same genre??

Oh! Me me me! I dig a few songs by them, just been lazy on getting their catalog.

Let Go = great album. Listen and judge for yourself. I don't really get the Superdrag comparison, but whatevs...

The others = not so good imo, but a few bright spots.

I liked them live, too.

Let Go is a good record. "Blizzard of 77," "Blonde on Blonde," and "Hi Speed Soul" are all quality tracks from the band.

Pitchforkmedia shredded Let Go, which further solidified my belief that they are full of shit.
