my experience last night with the Allegheny last night i'm strongly in support of experimentation with the sauce. So I think everyone should go over to Webtender and find sonething that sounds interesting and have one tonight. Oh and report back here whether it's worth trying out.

I do this from time to time, but it's usually in response to:
1. Wanting a drink badly
2. Being at home
3. Only having like Whiskey, Milk, and Grenadine

It gets interesting. I have heard that a whiskey and milk is either called a Ty Cobb or a Clown's Delight.

I've been craving a Margarita last couple days. Must've been the weather.

And today I'm surrounded by about 18 drunken women having a spa party at my workplace. A couple of em have already offered me a drink. lol I would if I could but I can't.

Good idea dude.

I've never tried Hennessey. I should rectify this tonight.

I help run a spa.

A bunch of women rented it out for most of the day. They pay good money to come in with food and alcohol to drink, eat, socialize and get spa services done.

That's a Spa Party.

Right now no one needs me so I'm taking a break.

I brought some Absinthe home from my recent trip to Prague, so I need to find a cocktail where I can use that.

I've done it the traditional way with sugar and water so am looking for something new. In Prague, Absinthe and Red Bull seemed popular.

aren't spas and alcohol really bad to mix with each other?

it was the spa party in my workplace thing that confused me. I thought they were turning an office into a sauna or something

Um...I'll stick with beer, as I'm not all that dandy with the liquor. However, I might brand-diversify, if that fits the description...

Dude, just don't mix it with Sprite or some shit. You should drink it out of a snifter. Hennessey is basically French Brandy (they call it cognac cos the grapes are grown in that region.)

It should be sipped, ideally after dinner, as a digestif.

Haq -- Blackberry Brandy is Brandy distilled from blackberries (duh ;)

And throw it in the microwave for about a minute. Then take a big whiff. You'll get a nice sudden jolt of holyfuckthathurts, but once yer eyes stop watering you'll realize you could get absolutely wasted just by huffing dem fumes.

hmmm...i've got some random bottles at home, perhaps i'll try to concoct a new drink. i may need y'alls help with what to make with my ingredients.

well, the gf and i went to a birthday dinner, and somehow we came across these drink recipe cards, like hundereds of them. So anyway we were flipping through them and remarking on how few of them any of us at the table had actually tried. So then we started a shitstorm at the bar by ordering a round of alleghenys, saratogas, and bronx cheers. We brought the cards to our local tavern and decided to try some others. hence the massive hangover this morning. I would suggest trying one at a time and sticking with it if you like it.

Incidentally, the allegheny is tart, and tastes like a bourbon sour.

the saratoga tastes really good in a girldinkdrunk sort of way but it was damn strong.

I didn't have an Bechorovka. Aside from some Absinthe and some different shots, we basically stuck with various local beers. We were pretty much drunk for 7 straight days so there wasn't any need to get too exotic.

I'm craving Maker's Mark.

Has anyone ever seen that show on Fine Living called The Thirsty Traveler? Basically, the guy travels all over the world and samples various spirits. Why the hell can't *I* get a job like that??? And I'd be way cuter on tv than that tool too.
