Regretfully, for the first time of Coachella's existence, I shall not be in attendance. :(

Me too. But it was basically between Coachella and Scotland...I chose Scotland. Believe it or not, the airfare and Coachella almost cost the same. Have a ton of fun for me!

I've never wanted to go previous years but the presence of Bauhaus and Gang of Four this year would be enough to light a fire under my ass.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town though and this is the only LA area gig for Gang of Four :(

Got a wedding, so I'm coming up lame this year. The day before is my birthday, though, and I'll take in an early screening of "Hitchhiker's Guide...", check out Dizzee Rascal at MSU and then see The Hard Lessons' CD release show later that night.

Not exactly Coldplay/Gang of Four/Arcade Fire, but not bad either.

Have fun, to all of you who are desert-bound. If it's anything like last year it'll be the best weekend of the year.

I'll be there---hanging out with the bitterbison and his brother. Weather.com says it should be about 20 degrees cooler than last year, and the lineup is quite a bit better than last year, which all adds up to a great weekend.

FUCK YES. Being how the weather has been in LA the past week or so, I was hoping it should be a bit cooler.

I duno about the lineup being better (I mean-HELLO? Radiohead? Sorry I'm biased) and I'm not really too stoked about Coldplay headlining... but regardless, it's tradition for me & my peeps and I'll have a blast regardless. Although, I'm really interested to see NIN because that new album is just. so. fuckin. good.

And T, your presence will be missed this year. :( Don't worry- I will be drinking PLENTY of beers for all of you who won't be in attendance. ;)

Yeah, Radiohead/Cure are stronger headliners than NIN/Coldplay (although, I thought the Cure was a huge disappointment last year), but the undercard is much better this year. My true headliners this year are New Order and Bauhaus---hell yeah. Top to bottom, I think this year's lineup is far stronger.

Now, if you were going to the Hitchhiker's screening with Dizzee Rascal, then I would give some respect. As is, though....

Rumour has it that The Doves (supposedly have cancelled all west coast dates due to throat problems) and Bravery (dunno why, trying to obtain confirmation) will not be performing.

Sounds like Thom syndrome. Bummer. Don't really care about the Bravery though, they suck live.

The Hard Lessons headline @ The Temple Club, prolly go on just before midnight. My making it there is predicated on Dizzee not operating on "hip-hop time" which generally runs about 90 minutes behind schedule. With a 9 p.m. show, it'll be close. If you see a bald dude in a wheelchair, that's me. The name's Chad.

Nothing's out of the question, I suppose. Either way, Dizzee would've been a far more inspired choice for Ford Prefect than Mos Def was/is. I mean, if you're gonna lay yer dick out there and cast a black rapper in an Anglo role, sack up and stick it ALL THE WAY out there.

Point taken, Chad, but it's who you know in the business, isn't it? Mos and Alan Rickman are boyz, you know.

Going. It's not gonna be red hot & I found cheap lodging, so I'm stoked.

Rumour has it Beck is gonna play an acoustic set for the campers. That's nice, I'll be enjoying my bed & shower.

Too bad about the Doves.
