So I'm at the stadium last night and I head to the bathroom.

I park my self in one of the middle urinals. There is noone on either side of me. I go about my business.

A guy approaches the piss tank to the left of me, and proceeds to do whaty he has to do.

First thing he does is lets a gob of spit out of his mouth into the urinal. Just lets it drip out of his mouth.

Now, just for the record, I wasn't watching the guy. I have enough pissing in public anxiety as anyone. It's just something you catch outside the peripheral view.

I continue....

The a guy pulls up the right side of me, and proceeds to do the same thing. Positions himself, then shoots a little wad of spit into the urnial before doing his business.

Now for the really weird aspect...
I have witnessed this so many times over, let's say the last year or two...

When did this become a common practice?

Did someone like catch Brad Pitt doing this in a public restroom, then he followed suit? How does something like this catch on? To those who know what I'm talking about, or even do this as well, why do you spit into the urinal right before you piss?


I got alot on my mind....

I think the better question is what are YOU doing taking the middle urinal when there are three open ones from which to choose?

Never witnessed this m'self. Or, perhaps more accurately, have never observed any other men in the bathroom, if possible.

i've never heard of anything like this, but dudes definitely like to spit into urinals. I've never seen the dribble (in stereo, no less), but the hawk 'n spit on the way in is pretty common.




you might be the only person in NYC with this problem...

I can get the job done, although it may take a bit more concentration....

i have nothing to add to the explanation of this phenomenon, other than to say that i too have seen this many times.

i even went so far as to try it once, but it really didn't do much for me.

i spit in urinals before I urinate. not everytime, but it does happen.

I do it when I have been drinking. I dunno why or when it started, but it always happens when I drink.

don't actually remember ...i think there might have been puddles (of water) on the floor of the other ones, so I just picked what was deemed to be the cleanest one at the time....... yeah, that's the ticket.

At least it's not spitty slurpy. I don't quite get the need to spit in general. I mean really, keep your mouth shut and the bugs won't get in.

I just noticed a second ago that I spit afterwards. I honestly never really noticed before. What else have I been hiding from myself?!?

ditto! and our bathrooms are way cleaner.

a ton of dudes spit (in general) when they've been drinking. what is that all about? does it prevent vomit? or bad after taste? does it cleanse your palate for the next delectible lite domestic?

i hate spitters and spitting.

I spit all the time and the girlfriend hates it...I may just produce a high amount of mucus..I don't know..Usually is really bad after I eat or drink...I know smoking doesn't help...
