Mind you I work on a campaign for a candidate who is black.

Most days find me bumping shit like:

"Who Dem Niggas" by Tha Alkaholiks
"How to Survive in South Central" by Ice Cube
"Shook Ones" by Mobb Deep

etc...

Not in a way to show solidarity or anything, just because I like to listen to rap while I'm working. Most my stuff is pretty lively, and my job is boring.

This comment made me laugh out loud, and I think I'll write a short story tonight about a guy who works in an office and buys rap records to kiss ass to his black boss.

pssh, once i was blasting nirvana's "rape me" from my headphones (and others nearby told me it was quite audible) when the ceo of the company was chatting outside my cubicle. i didn't notice he was there until after the song was over... nothing ever came of that. :)

thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to check them out when I get the chance. I do like some gospel, just not the really high energy stuff all day most every day.

Swan Silvertones are as smooth and beautiful as gospel gets. Not bombastic choir stuff.
