Peeps,

How great it is to listen to NAD after a long break.,....

Currently listening to "selfish"... off God Fodder

Anyone ever see them in concert before their demise?

Just the beats alone make me think it must have been one big pogo/bounce fest for the entire show.

Great summer songs....

Nice. Used to have a NAD sticker in my locker in 6th Grade. Double bass rocked. I loved "Gray Cell Green"

They weren't bad winter songs either. The one time I saw them they played at Big Bear Mountain at the base of the mountain along with Pornos for Pyros.

Ned's were fun but the highlight was actually snowboarding down the mountain while Perry Farrell was belting out "Coming down the mountain..."

Was a big God Fodder fan in the day. Actually attempted to rock a two bassist setup in my high school band (the late, great Opus Fairgrounds) with very middling results....

Agreed. I heard "Grey Cell Green" on one of the XM radio stations just this morning and was singing along. Great stuff. It's been a few years since I broke out the NAD CDs, but I think it's time I do so now.

I only have God Fodder, and the Single for that next record. "Not Sleeping Around"... I heard years ago that their follow up to God Fodder wasn't as good.

That's a good bill.

Welcome to the club.

Good times...

I saw Ned's open for Jesus Jones in Pittsburgh back in the early 90s. I bought a t-shirt that said "If You Missed Ned's...Then You Fucked Up." My feet barely touched the ground the whole night.

I saw Ned's in the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis around 1991-92?

Best part of the show (and this isn't really a knock against Ned's)--the opening band: Swervedriver

I honestly don't think there were more than 30 people there.

I really liked (well, like - still do) these guys. Saw them on the Brainbloodvolume tour. I remember essentially nothing about that show, strangely, but I listen to the album quite a bit.

I see they're back together, apparently.

I was more into Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine back in the day, mainly it has to be said because their logo was easier to draw on your Chemistry jotter.

i was pretty obsessed with 'god fodder' a few years ago....
still love it so much.

i always wanted more....but didn't want to check any other album out for fear of it being bad and ruining ned's for me.

(how is 'are you normal?')

I was at that show. I remember I was a little disappointed in both bands, especially thought NAD were a little sloppy and trying too hard at the same time. The double bass thing seemed sorta lost in the mush.

Palladium was "festival seating" which of course meant no chairs downstairs. 2nd row I presume means that you were "in the pit"... which in 1990 at the Palladium was clearly not a place for Bikenstocks.

I dig 'em. Have quite a bit of stuff by 'em, but never saw 'em live.
