Actually, Portsmouth is pretty cool, and has nicer restaurants, etc. A great place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there.

I grew up in that area too and all my family lives in Manchester. How long you going to be there for? 4 days? It least it's close to the beach, the mountians, and Boston. The is a nice little art museum in Manchester, the Courrier Art Museum, that's worth checking out if you have a free afternoon.
