What album do you own and could routinely listen to that would totally undermine any indie cred you might have?

Mine: Stroke 9 - Nasty Little Thoughts

I suppose that Shampoo album I have. But in my defence I was working on a talking magazine at the time and bought it because 'Trouble' thematically linked to one of the articles. It was used as an intro or background or something.

Response #1 - "You want a list?"

Response #2 - "I have no shame."

Response #3 - "I have no indie cred."

Response #4 - "I got nuthin'."

Response #5 - "Kylie Minogue, Fever; Pink, Can't Take Me Home; Boston; Styx, Grand Illusion; Britney Spears...need I say more?"

But, yeah, I sorta stopped caring about this kind of stuff a long time ago. I like what I like.

Oh, c'mon. We all have dozens of albums that could fit this description. If you claim not to, then I don't believe you.

ed. And, yeah, none of us care about it. But you'll never see that Anne Murray/Songs of the Heart album in anyone's NP: line

At least 80-90%of what I own and listen to would qualify easily.

This is nothing to be ashamed of.

But do yourself a favor and get some Dusty Springfield.

Should I be "ashamed" of ripping the just-released-last-week deluxe edition of Bruce Dickinson's Balls to Picasso, with the also-just-released-last-week deluxe edition of The Chemical Wedding in the cue right behind it . . . and having already ripped his also-just-released-last-week deluxe edition of Skunkworks when I excitedly bought that last Tuesday? (And should I be ashamed of being just as excited to pick up the other three deluxes here very soon, like this week?)

Seriously, why be ashamed of anything you listen to? I don't get it. It's not like we're a bunch of teeny-bop top-40 listeners that can't dig beyond what radio and MTV feeds us - if you listen to something that might damage your indie-cred, you probably have a pretty legit reason for doing so. There is valuable music out there outside of the "indie" world.

I don't know if you are agreeing with me or not?? It reads like you are agreeing with what I said in an argumentative way.....

He appears to be arguing with you that you are right. You should respond that you were totally wrong and don't know what the hell you're talking about.

I think you're talking about me . . . right? If so, yes, I'm totally in agreement, but I got worked up, I guess, about this "being ashamed" crap. It sounded like I was backing you up in my head, but on screen it does sound more harsh than I meant it to. No worries - I totally agree! :D

Hey, did you track down the two-disc version of Tattooed Millionaire? I saw one copy of it last week, passed on it for the time being, as it's not my favorite, then learned tonight that it's not being released in the US because Sony owns the rights to it and continues to sell their one disc "deluxe" of it (it has five bonus tracks as opposed to an entire disc of them.) Now I'm kicking myself because it seems the store had actually gotten one of the Canadian pressings . . . and that's probably not likely to happen again for a while. I'm going back tomorrow to see if it's still there but my hopes aren't up.

It's all good.....Defitiely sounded like you were trying to argue my points, although all your points were exactly the same points I had...LOL.
