wow - a bit early for the sell-out. I still can't get over that Modest Mouse song in the minivan commercial. Feel like a soccer-mom every time I pop in The Moon & Antarctica.

I'd rather hear a song I like in a commercial than one I don't.

*Rest assured, being a musician is a career choice, especially for one who has attained position on an at least semi-prominent indie-label, let alone Epic a la the humble vermin. I mean, you've never seen Mick Jagger waiting tables, and all those creeps in garage-bands that work at comic-book shoppes to earn their scratch while slogging it out on the small-club circuit and complaining about their favorite musicians selling out, they'd like not to be seen working in a restaurant or gas-station. It's not hypocrisy, though -- just blowhards trying to pull the wool over their inbred, local-scene fans's eyes before same fans move in to blow them. Yeah, yeah.

Pretty much completely not what I said.

I saw this last night, and it was M+M's, I thought. But yeah. I dropped what I was doing, as did the wife, and we met in front of the TV, scratching our heads.

I wonder how much money an artist gets for something like this?

Oh, and what I wondered was what percentage of said $ goes to Iron and Wine dude vs Postal Svc as songwriters?

I know that, Phillippe. I thought that you would know that too, though, since, eh, we at Obner have a tendency to doctor up others's passages, often twisting what was originally typed, to make our own point. I think out of laziness, since often it's just because the former will share three words (does not really matter which three) with the present.

For me, that would be about one. Make it that light purple, though.

Yail Bloor hastily purchases a gross of licorice, and a one-way ticket to Montpelier (I assume that's where the VT airport is, since it's capital and presumably where out-of-town folks who are flying in need to be).

I think you'll find Montpellier has two L's.

I also know how to spell Bordeaux correctly.

Thank-you. But either the New England yokel or Quebecois hay-seed bastardized it to Montpelier, one L, so I am not wrong-wrong, in this instance.

Now, my question: how does one get Loove out of Louvre?

Iron & Wine has been doing the Moby thing for a while, trying to get "Naked As We Came" into every motion picture released in 2004. It was only a matter of months before a candy ad.

It's more the song that bothers me than the ad. Using a cover song that originally appeared on the other band's single...very confusing how the deal was made.

Only in your sick, twisted reality, sir. For the rest of us, it's Burlington.

I still don't understand why people on here do this unless they're viewing the board on a 110" monitor.
