wow - a bit early for the sell-out. I still can't get over that Modest Mouse song in the minivan commercial. Feel like a soccer-mom every time I pop in The Moon & Antarctica.

I'd rather hear a song I like in a commercial than one I don't.

*Rest assured, being a musician is a career choice, especially for one who has attained position on an at least semi-prominent indie-label, let alone Epic a la the humble vermin. I mean, you've never seen Mick Jagger waiting tables, and all those creeps in garage-bands that work at comic-book shoppes to earn their scratch while slogging it out on the small-club circuit and complaining about their favorite musicians selling out, they'd like not to be seen working in a restaurant or gas-station. It's not hypocrisy, though -- just blowhards trying to pull the wool over their inbred, local-scene fans's eyes before same fans move in to blow them. Yeah, yeah.

Iron & Wine has been doing the Moby thing for a while, trying to get "Naked As We Came" into every motion picture released in 2004. It was only a matter of months before a candy ad.

It's more the song that bothers me than the ad. Using a cover song that originally appeared on the other band's single...very confusing how the deal was made.
