Feel free to post a little bit explaining where your avatar is from, why you chose it, et cetera, et cetera for those of us that might not quite be certain.

Fine. I will, if nobody else will.

My choice is quite obviously a gramophone. It's a selection from an Iron & Wine tour poster. I can't find the original full picture anymore. But it has a little border around the edge with my avatar being in the bottom left corner.

Another selection from the poster, a large rooster, is currently my avatar on msn.

I really like the idea of a guy with meat on his head. It says a lot about who I am.

Mine's Edie Sedgwick. She died in 71. Distant cousin of Kyra. She was heiress from fucked up family, turned Warhol superstar ,turned drug addict.

I've just been obsessed with her story since I was 13. Find her interesting, complex.

<---- kinda self-explanatory.

Slow were one of my fave bands of the '80s. Like their Seattle contemporaries (and grunge percursors) Green River, they were among the first post-'77 punk bands to overtly embrace the classic rock power of the Stones and Led Zep in the context of dirty alternative noise. They only lasted long enough to put out one single and the amazing and rare Against The Glass ep, which I loved so much that I still have a pristine sealed copy of it in my collection.

Umm...like being a drug wasn't a pre-requisite?... I think it came first, then she (through her connection on the lower east side) met the Factory boys and girls. Did you read her fine biography Edie?

I've always found the Warhol/Factory stuff really interesting. It's such a bizarre scene with so many honestly odd characters. Did you ever read POPism? Kind of good story, but according to Bob Colacello, Andy's Interview guy from the 70s, it's pretty shallow version of what went on.

That's Hank. We were cruising down Mopac in Austin and he rested his head on the box of cds in a contemplative way, so I snapped the picture.

I love my dog. I'd save him before you.

Mine is a snapshot of Yoshi's Island which was a video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System that was released in 1995 and seems to make a great image.
