I'm trying to get a full season in before Madden arrives. I started playing the owner mode a month ago and am at a little past midseason. 72-20 with the sox. Most of my games are low scoring. Ross Gload is batting 370 for me.

online play is stupid too. the key is to never throw a single strike.

i did a season in owner mode and just really got annoyed w/ the whole money thing. it gets better towards the playoffs but in the beginning it was awful.

so now I got a dynasty mode going and it's awesome. i was killing at first, but upped the difficulty/sliders and it's a bit more competitive. i think vlad is batting the highest at like .360 for me. that carl crawford can steal a base

the key to the owner mode is to put it on high budget and buy extra seating right away. that's it really. I didn't do a draft, I went with the White Sox and just traded from there. I have my lineup as

Podsednik
Iguchi
Rowand
Uribe
Gload
Brandon Inge
Jeremy Reed
Joe Mauer

Pitching Staff is completely the same as the Sox, except Takatsu(who was just released today) has 25 saves and a 0.00 era.

that's exactly what I did, and I was winning almost every game. I was eventually able to buy other stuff later in the year. maybe i wasn't patient enough. i just didn't like having to worry about that as much as playing. it's fun having the goals to go for on dynasty.

This is the only Xbox game I own.

I run Dynasty mode, I could give a fuck how much a hot dog costs.

I'm 80-25 with the Reds in my first season after a few trades and a call-up or two. The next season I will probably tweak the difficulty, but for now I'm having fun wiping up the damn league.

I've had this game since it came out, but just barely got to play it on my dad's computer before I moved out. Mine was too slow to handle it, but earlier today my brand spanking new notebook computer arrived! I'm headed downstairs in a little bit to play it for hours on end.

I also pre-ordered Madden '06 yesterday, so I don't have too much longer to spare for baseball.

It's easily the best baseball game out there. The ESPN one is horrendous. I sayi t's definitely worth picking up, especially at 30 bucks only(maybe less now)

Nice. I'm currently playing a season with the A's also. Hudson and Zito are battling for the Cy Young and Eric Chavez is hitting over .400 with the batting title all but his.

Does anyone else who plays this have trouble hitting home runs?

I don't have a single player with over 10 home runs and I'm 3/4 through the season. I just can't seem to hit em.

It takes probably a half hour tops. I find myself spending more time adjusting lineups than playing even.

also, for those geeks

this site is awesome.

Glad to hear it. Just picked this up the other day. I fell in love with MVP '04 - any major differences in the '05 version besides the "owner mode"? I can't wait to get into this, but I still need to finish my '04 season. Playing as the Red Sox, I was undefeated through 15 games until Roy Halladay absolutely embarrassed me. His 94 mph fastball/70 mph palmball combo was making me look silly.
