The Stooges Heavy Liquid

This Easy Action release Heavy Liquid comprises 79 tracks on 6 CDs including all of the unreleased studio demos from the original master tapes, rehearsal and live materials. It also includes a booklet with extensive liner notes featuring interviews with Iggy, Ron & Scott Asheton plus an Iggy photo book.

CD1 features the Olympic Studio tapes, London 1972, the material is unreleased and taken from recently discovered multi track master tapes!

CD2 features Morgan Sound Studios, Ypsilanti Michigan 1973, unreleased rehearsal taken from recently discovered inch tape.

CD3 features the Los Angeles & Detroit rehearsals during the spring of 1973.

CD4 features the CBS studios rehearsals, July 1973, for the upcoming shows at Maxs Kansas City.

CD5 features the five nights stand at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in September 1973.

CD6 concludes with The Stooges Last Stand in Detroit Michiga at the Palace in February 7th 1974. This (CD6) recording has been re-mastered from the original tape recording and also includes 3 unreleased tracks. 2005.

Cuz I think it's only a semi-legit release.

I saw the listing at Amazon when I was researching the upcoming Stooges Rhino Reissues...it's quite the muthaload.

I can totally understand your dislike of the Stooges neanderthal debut. I can even hear how Funhouse might seem inept and plodding when compared to your beloved Stones. But I'm constantly amazed that you can resist "Search And Destroy".

That Raw Power band was a trainwreck of mongerosity, digging into the same bedrock that fueled both Sticky Fingers and the Flamin' Groovies' Teenage Head, but with a more working class American sense of hopeless debauchery. These Raw Power sessions could prove your Iggy = buster theory all wrong (and, admittedly, could prove you right as well). But, shit... "Search And Destroy"? I just cannot fathom how that isn't a facking anthem in your life.
