I'm thinking of picking one of these up. I've never bought an mp3 player, and this looks like a good deal. I just want the basics. Looking at the 512MB model. Dalen brought this to mind with his other Creative thread. I have Creative Soundblaster on my old CPU and love it. So, is this a good thing?

You want more than 512mb of space.
I wouldn't get less than 1gb.

you love your soundcard?

i don't think that's really an indication of how you'll like their mp3 players.

There are a TON of Muvo models - can you post a pic of the one you are interested?

I got this Samsung 1 GB flash player and have been more than pleased. It also comes in 256 MB and 512 MB models. I got mine at Best Buy (yuck) because I had a $50 gift card from Christmas that needed to be put to use.

It's about the size of a tube of lipstick, plenty loud, nice sound and it mounts as an external drive, so you don't have to navigate any clunky software. I use my Sennheiser PX-100 headphones rather than the ones that came with it. It also comes with a neckstrap and a snap on cover. It runs on a single AA battery, which is nice because I always have AAs around the house. Some players use AAAs, though.

I have 12 albums [encoded with LAME, so bigger files than 128 kbps] on mine right now, and I could probably squeeze another on if it wasn't too long.

My only beef is that I need to rename my files with track number before I load them or it won't play in sequence. With TagScanner this takes all of a few seconds, though, plus I usually leave the same stuff on for a few weeks at least.

Get the 512 Slim model. That's what I have. It's great, and about the same size as two credit cards stacked on top of each other. The battery lasts pretty long too for a small player. I'd much rather carry around a tiny player swap songs on it every so often then have to carry a huge ipod.

I've got the 1 GB version of this exact same model (though mine is red), and have had no problems with it. I still want something with a lot more storage space, though. I hate trying to decide which one of my 65 GB to transfer onto the device. I'd rather be able to transfer it all!
