tonight - leaving work early to head to MD and meeting up with three good friends I haven't seen in years, get in drunken fisticuffs, take the boat for a little booze cruise, plan a bachelor party, go to an american legion for the second weekend in a row, try not to stay up until 5
tomorrow - Hit the fucking Betterton Day Parade for deep-fried crawfish, crabfeast, barrels or shitty lite beer and nunchuks. maybe go fishing later. hopefully be too drunk to move on my own power by 5PM
sunday - back to philly, where another old friend is in from portland (what can I say, I've got like 2 friends that live within 100 miles of me), hang out with her for the day and hopefully get home in time to catch the rerun of six feet under.

whatch y'all up to?

tonight - nothing planned
tomorrow - nothing planned
Sunday - nothing planned

Translation: don't leave the flat, sleep a lot, read a bit, play on the PC, thinking about cleaning, choosing not to clean, do one load of laundry, maybe journal and/or meditate, maybe watch DVDs, eat when I'm hungry

It will be glorious.

Saturday - I think he has some wine tastings planned, tour the Biltmore Estate (never done this, though I've lived in NC for 12 years), drink
Sunday - drive back, pick buddy up from airport, watch the hell out of some Six Feet Under and Entourage

Tonite: Nada. Either rent a movie or go see Hustle and Flow (gf is in town)
Tomorrow: It all depends. Probably nothing, but then again one of my best friends is at his gf's beach house 2 hours away. Depending on the amount of wine conumed tonite, I might just make the jaunt.
Sunday: M.O.N.G.E.R. -- once the gf leaves. Turn A/C back down to SO COLD. Prop myself up in bed with some chicken wings and a couple of 40 oz.

I'm not sure yet

Could leave tonight to go to Venice, LA to fish the Sportsmen League Fishing Rodeo. Wouldn't come back till Sunday.
or
Tonight- Nothing
Tomorrow - Wife's friends birthday party in New Orleans. She wants to do the White Linen Art Show thing.
Sunday - Nothing.

If it were soley my choice I would do option 1, but I'll probably be doing option 2. Not that option 2 will be miserable.

tonight > fly to KC, see wife for first time in month, wine/dine in celebration of anniversary, intercourse highly likely.
tomorrow > record shopping, see Howl's Moving Castle, more dine-wining & possibly more intercourse.
day after tomorrow > golf with pops, say 'g-bye' to wife, sulk on flight back to Twin Cities.

My friends from Scotland are in town, so I shall be playing the lovely tourguide this weekend.

Today: Venture to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier; go to the taping of The Late Late Show Show (Buzz Aldrin is the guest); see Dead 60's in evening

Saturday: Drive to Santa Barbara; see High Dials in evening

Sunday: Go to Hollywood, do touristy things; see a film at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre; see Teenage Fanclub in evening

Monday: sleep in; take friends to airport :(

i just found out that what was supposed to be having a birthday party tonight, the one I didn't get to have yet, with some old friends, a lot of booze and some flat-out dude time. I was really looking forward to this, since I live with my girlfriend, as do most of my friends that live nearby. Fishing, fighting each other, setting shit on fire on the beach...this is all stuff I was looking forward to. I just found out that out of the 5 people coming down to the shore 3 of them are bringing their wives/girlfriends. Normally I wouldn't mind, but considering a)i'm the one hosting this shit and b)these people were the ones who came up with an all-guys weekend, i'm pretty ripe and pissed. So i'm left with a few options, the least likely of them being to tell them that that shit ain't happening.

seriously, i'm so not in the mood for the wine and cheese party i KNOW this is gonna turn into.

everybody feel it. it's felix's birthday.

wait is there just the one? that is awesome. suddenly alienating my friends' spouses and going fishing alone to avoid kidztalk sounds far more tolerable.

i think you might have been in my dream last night, cotton, but i may be confusing "dreaming" with "being drunk and reading something on a message board at 3am."

just kidding. if that hippie was carrying my casket i'd wake up just to smack his dreadlocked head.

and haq, that's odd because I've had like 4 obner-related dreams in the last 2 weeks, and for a guy who NEVER remembers his dreams that's rather odd. as long as I wasn't talking backwards you've got intellectual rights to my image in your dreams.

the curtain's a sea anemone
in the way it sways
to the slow breeze
I lie spread out on the floor
looking at these things
and most of them are yours
and it's so nice
sitting very still
without those old shoes
I could never fill
starfish with its arms out in a daze
staring at the stars
through an ocean haze
was I one you wished upon?
burned out like a lightbulb
when you turned me on
and it's so nice
sleeping here all alone
with my ashtray and
white courtesy telephone
now I'm making out the shapes
like the shower rod - can it take my weight?
I will tell you I am fine
I got some news, friend, feels like I'm dying
turtle on its back in the desert sea
and you look like a cool drink
just slightly out of reach
draw myself into the shell
waiting on a sign from god
or a nod from hell
and it's so nice
sitting very still
without those old shoes
I could never fill
no we're turning on the lights
it's the first day of my second life
take my name off of the lease
you can even keep the name
it never suited me.

Tomorrow: Pool city in the afternoon. More than likely kicking it caveman style with the shades drawn and the AC blasting that night.

Sunday: no clue
