after a size miscue and a re-order, my space ghost costume arrived and i can say that without question, it was the best decision i've ever made.

Yeah, I can see where that would be troublesome...you should see the way people look at me when I'm in a room full of Democrats...

I'm involved in throwing a party, and I'm supposed to dress up. No idea what I want to be, but I have an idea to fall back on that I got from some friends. Sort of a Clark Kent thing, with a dress shirt open to reveal a Superman shirt. I don't really feel like I can pull this off very well, and it won't quite be silly enough to be funny.

I really don't have much time to come up with and make/buy anything better.

I think I've decided on a costume. I will post pictures later and you can try and guess what I was.

I think I've settled on ghost pirate.

I have the hat, telescope, and pistol that fires plastic darts.

I need to find some piratey clothes and either an eyepatch or a hook. The idea is I'll add a bunch of scars and wounds to my face, and maybe make a cardboard sword that I can make look like it's going through my chest.

Then douse myself in flower so I'm pastey white.

When I first met my wife we went to a Halloween party as Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg (who were dating at the time). We were going to do it straight, then thought it would be funnier if she went as Ted and me as Whoopi. Wish I had some pics.

Dang, that was my fallback. Or Seymour from Ghost World.

My friend was considering going as Enid.

No worries -- having a girl go as Axl w/Buckethead > Buckethead by self. Besides, I'm not sure I can pull it off by Friday (which is when the party is). If I can find my antennae, I'll just wear those. (Think John Belushi as a bumblebee.)

PS Saw him tonight -- he's insane. Truly "beyond".

If you can get ahold of those stickers they put in car windows for funeral processions that say "Funeral" on them -- put it on the bucket, in the front. He does that. Oh, and long black hair wig to finish things. Dreads, I think, but wasn't close enough to see.

I will be dressing up at least 3 times. Halloween is the biggest holiday in Athens. I have loose plans for 4 costumes, but haven't started assembling them yet. We will be allowed to dress up TWICE at my work- on Saturday and then again on Monday (the 31st). For work on the 29th, I plan on recycling last year's costume in honor of the GA/FL game; one of those UGA cheerleader costumes parents buy their little girls. Last summer some family left it at the restaurant and never came back, so I made a few alterations to it to make it fit (namely, the top wasn't arm or boob-friendly). Haha- it's a size 6X. I wore that when I was 7.

Awesome! I love you TinyE.

You should go as a zombie cheerleader. Wear the costume but paint your face and arms like a zombie with some nice open wounds.

There's a chance I'll be doing that (the zombie cheerleader thing) without even meaning to... On Friday night, the burlesque troupe I am in is doing a show opening for Jucifer, and we will be in full-body, airbrushed-on-with-peeling-latex-to-look-like-flesh zombie makeup. I then have to work the next morning (in the cheerleader costume), so I may not be able to get all that makeup off of me. Either way, I will take some pics so you lovely Obner folk can laugh at me in my costumed glory.
