Goddamnit Dalen, we need to hang out.

Everything you have posted in this thread has cracked my shit up dude. I declare a truce to our eco-bickering. lol.

A couple of months ago, I got REALLY stoned for the first time in forever and rode around in my buddy Katt's car just cranking music with the windows down. Though it was high school-ish in a sad way, whatever. I'd never heard Ike Reilly's "Garbage Day" at like 100 decibels with a head full of the sticky icky.

Then we went to a bar and I was so paranoid that it was extremely uncomfortable; so I had like two drinks and me and the gf went home and.....

And there you have it in a nutshell.

Imagine if Bloor, Dalen, OPA!, and SpontaneousPoet went out as a foursome. The Senator would have to be called in just to referee; he would have not have any fun (not in the traditional sense, anyway).

Agreed, except having some other people around at home and who are also high can be fun.

I love getting high and getting drunk, but tend to get drunk more often.

I can't drive worth a shit when I'm high.

My problem is that I've never smoked pot without already being drunk first. I need to try it seperately.

No need...all is forgotten. I rarely hold grudges, and I can be friends with people without agreeing with them about everything...I actually think just having friends that you always nod along in agreement with is boring.

My reason for liking pot, is that it's such a fun drug. It makes me laugh a lot, and think of strange things. I drew a picture last weekend in my sketchbook and it was really interesting. I ended up painting it with gouache later on, and using it for a series I was doing. Sometimes pot can serve as a creative outlet, but I still think I do much better pertaining to creativity under stable conditions rather than under any sort of influence.
I don't know. I may as well smoke it now because I know when I get older and settle down i'm not going to do it.

at the risk of embarrassing myself:

i love pot.
i think it's one of my top 3 favorite things to do in life.
i love it so much i rarely keep it around.
i will love it forever even if i'm not smoking it.
i think about it a lot.
it is wonderful.

i never feel the need to get fucked up with it.
it just adds a glorious edge to life.
i never feel the need to eat like a pig afterward, either.
it's quite delightful.

i know this makes me pathetic.
but i don't care.
it's the truth.

Why?
I don't want to do it when I have kids. Obviously that's a long way off from now..but, I don't know. I don't feel like getting into it, actually.

I never said they're good ideas. They are undoubtedly creative, though. They are fucking strange. I had a good idea once. The one I did a painting of. Then again i've only been smoking (irregularly) since this past summer. I was completely against it before hand. What changed me? I was curious. While it's fun it's not something i'll do a whole lot, though.

Yeah, I definitely don't think my painting would have turned out well if I created it while high. I sketched the idea while high, but my attention span is retarded after smoking so I think if I tried to paint it then it'd be a piece of shit.

I think the funniest thing i've drawn after smoking is hitler throwing pizza dough, and at the top of the page it says "grow a square beard"

He looks so happy in that picture.

well, it actually makes you think that what you're working on at the time is brilliant, when it's usually mediocre or just plain shit at best.

We just went over this. But I really did draw this cool.. man.. with spiral breasts.. though. I can't explain it, if I can ever get my series back from my fucking teacher i'd scan the painting and post it on flickr.

Anyways, that's why I said i'm better off creating while i'm not under any sort of influence.

Finally I am able to call someone else racist.

You're obviously discriminating against caucasians by not featuring us in your display of pictures.
Jesus.

Hey come on, Madlib mediocre? Whether you like his personas (Quas, etc.) or not you have to admit he can make an amazing jazz-flavored beat.

What is up with meth? This question kind of blends in with the reunion thread because I had a high school buddy call me out of the blue bragging he finally kicked the habit but knew of tons of people back in my small town hooked on the shit or in prison because of it and that's why he moved recently.

What's up with the meth situation?

with george, it was probably more the coke than the reefer--i just watched the independent lens special on parliament on pbs and the weed stayed constant from the beginning to the bullshit he put out in the 80s.
and madlib is a fucking genius.

I'm not keen on the majority of the stuff i've heard from him. I do dig the Quasimoto album, but find his jazzier bits kinda uninteresting. If that's the sound I'm looking for, he's the last person that I turn too.

Whaaaat? You would be the last person that I could imagine being into Quasimoto. Well, maybe after Loogar at least.

Are you referring to his album that came out this year or The Unseen?
