so what did i miss today? didn't see any of the games.

was holland/serbia good with holland knocking on the door the whole match and the "fabulous four" holding strong or was it boring, negative football?

also, looks like portugal almost shit the bed against the worst rated squad in the tournament, but there was that whole "country plays former colony" rivalry thing going on. . . was angola inspired or was portugal just crap?

Dunno about Portugal - that game was on at 4:30 am here - but given their track record of massively falling short of their 'golden generation' tag, I'm going to say the latter.

As for Holland S-M, I can't say this with complete certainty since I was trying to do some study at the same time, but Holland, and in particular Robben, had a lot of good chances but didn't put them away. Seems to be a bit of a pattern for them in recent games which is surprising given their midfield and strikers. I don't remember Van Nistelrooij doing much, but as I said I only had half my attention on it.

Robben was outstanding. I was waiting for him to score again for my fantasy team but he kept hitting it a foot wide

and no disrespect, proach, but based on the goings on of current and past obners would you mind pulling down my non-internet name from your last post? didn't sit so well for our friend squirggle and i'm not super-psyched to have my name searchable to the board. thanks, man.

Of course, done. Great fucking picks. Already used 5 transfers, i get bored and want to change around. Last time i looked the leader of the whole tournament on espn, not just our league had 28 points. Good call, but watch your back!

Nedved seriously picked our midfield and defense apart. I'm pretty sure I have him on my team.

1 Chris - Computer Says No (21)
2 Pete Rich - Come on England (15)

4 Carlo Mosca - Topogigios (14)
5 Lauren Hogan - Telescope (12)
6 Matt Olsen - DHRjericho (12)

8 Darrin Frew - If Only They Were Scottish (11)
8 Rusty Sanchez - ol dirty bastard (11)
10 No Body - Nobody (10)

My lowly position is explained by the fact 5 of my players haven't had a match yet. Well, I hope that's the reason.

You have equal best defence though so far, with Brazil to come.

I would be in a real mess with the amount of transfers i have already made if it were not for Cahill.

He actually looked pretty good. He was more offensive minded and looked sharp but Ghana just didn't have space and their strickers weren't much help.

I've got Kaka and Ronaldinho as well so it looks like i won't be gaining any ground. Maybe Shevchenko can get a few goals to pull me closer.

You can make transfers at anytime. You have 12 overall. You can make 8 in the first phase, 4 in the next and 4 in phase 3.

i'm hoping picking guys from teams expected to go far will keep me doing OK, but I did give a nod and pick one American, which will be a waste. Too lazy to make transfers though.

I got an e:mail a coupla days ago telling me that my entry (Hookers n' Blow) finished third. Seeing as I didn't pay any attention to switch-outs, or anything really, involving that competition, I felt good on it.

Should I have done so?
