A top-10 for me, too.

Interesting that there's only one Stones album.

Yeah, I think we've done this sort of exercise so many times that I didn't really feel the need to nominate a Stones album. I think it's pretty established that a Top 100 albums ever from this board would yield several Stones albums.

But, the fact that Exile (at least for now) won't be competing against other Stones albums tells me it could win it all.

Thanks guys for your nominations. I will now begin the process of randomly placing all 160 albums into 32 groups of 5.

First group will be posted some time this afternoon.

You went from first 80 boarders to 1:00 today, damn it. You can't change the rules in mid game.

My 2 are:

Joshua Tree
Full Moon Fever

So we're up to 20 groups. I will continue the group stage polls on Monday with probably 6 more, and then 6 more on Tuesday.

I can't say for sure, but the tournament will probably begin either on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

The results might be predictable enough at this point and in many cases CHH inducing. Still its filling a needed void on the board and has a chance to be more interesting in head to head matchups than i might have thought. good work opa.

Tonight's The Night isn't Neil's best album, but I guess it's Obner's favorite Neil album? Probably not.

I think On the Beach is Obner's favourite album but it got swamped in its category.

That was a bummer. Who knew there was so much REM love here?

And I think the Neil favorites are pretty divided which will hurt his overall chances.

Yeah, I'd wager that if Sleeps with Angels was up there harry would have been all over it, whereas billyg would probably pick Harvest if it was available, etc.

Folks do love their college rock.

Yeah, I went with Murmur over On the Beach but would have gone with NY if the album were Harvest, Zuma, After the Goldrush or Everyone Knows This is Nowhere. I'm not sure I really like Murmur more than OTB anymore but REM were an important band to me growing up and on a gut call, I had a hard time justifying voting for my 6th or 7th favorite NY depending on the day over my favorite REM.

I didn't vote for Tonight's the Night either but don't remember what it was matched up against and am not sure whether the album would have made a difference. I generally prefer Tonight's the Night to On the Beach though.

And is Sleep with Angels really Harry's favorite NY? That doesn't seem right.

I think he just champions it as NY's most underrated record, or his best '90s record.

Which I think I agree with.

My point wasn't really that it was harry's absolute favourite just that as I know how much he thinks of Sleeps with Angels and if it happened to be in one of the polls he might be conflicted if it was up against a few other choice albums, which would hopefully illustrate that Neil fans have some varied tastes when it comes to his oeuvre.

I myself would be conflicted over Ragged Glory. That is all.
