Glad to see some agreement that Spain are a dull team. I seem to read so much about what a beautiful game they play. People seem to overlook that they are more interested in playing keep away than attacking. They are kings of the 1-0 game with few chances from what I can see. But I do think Germany has a chance at them.

Spain was a bore. The England/Italy game was much more entertaining despite being 0-0. I think Portugal could pull the upset, but I pick Germany to win it all.

I was reminded yesterday that I pulled out Spain in the works sweepstake some weeks ago so now I'm feeling torn.

I'm pulling for Spain, since I picked them to win in a bar pool, and I still have a chance to win the money despite picking the Netherlands to make the finals and Ireland to advance to the knockout stage.
I'm also guessing that most people on hear despise Barcelona, since their style of play is the essence of the Spanish national team.

Disagree with this. They might share some personnel and Barcelona sometimes play without an out and out striker but players like Dani Alves and of course Lionel Messi give the Barcelona team a forward impetus that the Spanish national side does not have.

David Villa was the top scorer during Euro 2008 and a Silver Boot winner at the 2010 World Cup. His absence due to injury clearly diminishes Spain's offensive capabilities this time around, but he was an integral part of the 2011 Barcelona team that hoisted the Champions League trophy.
Fernando Torres should have been able to fill in for him, since he is being paid to be a premier striker, but he appears to be washed up at this point in time.

Torres is pitiful. The only thing that may keep Spain from hoisting is the absence of David Villa. I absolutely love Iniesta, but I don't know if that's enough.

Barcelona is more entertaining than Spain, but I'm not really much for them either and was glad to see Real take the title this year. I do like Messi as a player though, I'm not blind.

As much as people love this "new" Germany, I prefered the old Germany, the one that made finals and won trophies...even if to be fare neither brat Italy.

Never seen Germany so...indecisive? Buffon looked his name early on, and there was just no one there for Germany to finish. After the first Italian goal, the Germans just looked frustrated.

I may have won the bar pool by default today, but still might need to see Spain beat Italy, The Spaniards have never beaten the Italians in regulation time of a major tournament, and no team has repeated as Euro champion, so the odds are against me at this point.
I'm not a fan of the Italians, but I was pleasantly surprised that they beat the Germans today.

And they did in a dominant fashion. Not boring. I don't get the Spain hate. They play a beautiful game that no one else can duplicate.

I've been watching these games in Spain and its been awesome to witness. Great for Spain.

I'm drinking in a Granada bar. Time for more vino.

I can't believe I finally won a bracket pool. I was going to wear my Spanish National team jersey today, but I though it might jinx me.
I hope I can continue this streak of luck into the EPL Fantasy season or next year's March Madness pool.

I will never likely be a Spain fan, but I have to credit them. Two Euros with a world cup between puts this team on the short list when judging all time greats.
