Record wise, yes.

But Spurs aren't even the best team in Texas right now.

Blake Griffin has that effect on power forwards. Dude is a monster, and I don't mean that as a euphemism for a force at basketball, I mean that he lives on an island and eats sacrificial virgins in exchange for not destroying the town.

was VC's heyday over a decade ago? It pains me to say it but he was something special. Griffin's probably my favorite power dunker since Kemp though.

Yeah, fuck Vince Carter, but dude belongs in the best dunkers of all time conversation. Kemp's my favorite too.

I wrote this on Facebook but I'll recycle:

LeBron cut his own version of Shaq's hit "Tell Me How My Ass Taste" on Cleveland last night.

Cleveland fans chanting 'Scottie Pippen' at LeBron last night was one of the funniest things I have ever heard...

Knicks 11-9!

I can't figure this team or Lebron. After seeing the result of that game I think dude is either the biggest head case ever and will never take the Heat anywhere or this was just something that had been weighing on him and they can now get down to business.

It was one of his best performances of the year and his teammates helped make it that for him. Also his whole "I'm just really tired" after the game also gave indication of how much of a toll it took on him.

It's probably some middle area but I DO think he's always been one of those players that when people don't like him it bothers him. Hell, it's probably the first time it's ever happened to him.

Me, I hope it all goes down in flames but it'll certainly be fun to watch.

Worth noting: it was also the 2nd night of a road back-to-back. That combined with the obvious drama and stress of going back into the lion's den in Cleveland would grind anyone's gears down.

Part of me thinks that game was one of the things that needed to happen for LeBron and the Heat to start putting it together. They're just so fucking erratic. They'll barely beat the dregs of the league one night and then beat Orlando (a team with an elite center who should murder them in the paint and on the boards) by 30 or so.

People are putting too much on the psychology of the whole situation as being the reason for the Heat's struggles. It's mostly Wade being a ball killer at this point.

It's that, Wade is hurt, and Bosh fears the paint like it causes cootie-cancer.

It's pretty obvious that they need to figure out an offense that runs through LeBron but keeps Wade engaged, otherwise they might as well not even play Wade: LeBron can win 60 games with whatever cast of stiffs you roll out there, especially if he's not worried about be deferential to the once great King of Miami, D-Wade.

Exactly. I don't know what Spolestra is going for with his offense, but he pretty much needs to trade for Grant Hill and run whatever offense Duke ran with Christian Laettner. or exhume the corpse of Don nelson and let him have his dirty way with this bunch.

Simmons had Steve Kerr on this week and they made comparisons to the 95 Bulls team when Jordan came back for the playoffs. Scottie had led the team to 50-odd wins and then Jordan drops 55 at the Garden and they had to tentatively figure out how everything works together again. Eventually they lose in the playoffs to the Magic (I think) and then run off 3 more titles when they found some rebounding.

I watched all but the last 6 minutes of the Sixers/Hawks game last night, not realizing that they fucking blew it in the end. Didn't find out until a few minutes ago. WEAK.

Also, Blake Griffin is open to being in the dunk contest.
