I really have no idea what to upload for berliner. I know dude is into metal and maybe some prog-ish stuff and some generally weird shit. I thought maybe I'd put up a jazz album since most of what I've gotten over the past month has been jazz, but then I thought maybe I should try this instead:

Image
Yellow Magic Orchestra - s/t (Japanese version)

This is some Kraftwerk-ish, vintage video-game-influenced electronic music from 1980, for any who don't know. Many here may already be familiar with it, but I only heard it recently. The only difference between the US and Japanese versions, as far as I can tell, are the cover art and one additional, really short track at the end of the Japanese one.

berliner, let me know if you're already familiar with this. I had a couple of other things in mind, too, that I could put up.

I remember Eric Clapton, of all people covering a YMO tune in the early 90's ("Behind the Mask"). His version, of course, was pretty awful. But the original was pretty cool.

That's cool, 'cause it won't be until tonight that I'd even start thinking about what to up. Sounds like a plan.

'Ol Patrick..............challenge accepted.

From what I gather, your taste is kind of all over the place (which is good) so I'm confident I can find something you'll dig, or at the very least appreciate.

As I said before, might be early next week when I can get something up since I'm going out of town tomorrow. But, I might get something up tonight.

I checked your last.fm account, maybe this is something for you.
In case you're already familiar with this, say something. I have several others which could qualify.

I won't tell anything about this album before, that's maybe better for you to check it without any prejudices. Beside the fact that it comes from me, who listens to generally weird shit. :D

Nice - sea foam and I have a bizarro taste confluence in that we never seem to listen to the same stuff, but I always find a gem or two in his end of year lists, or if I see an album is getting a lot of love and he also likes it, it's a sign I probably will.

I've got a good idea of what to post for him as well.

Ryan - maybe you can crap some gbv on my face later.

You still will probably beat me to doing it. Also, I can't say I know much about your musical taste so you want to give me any guidance other than something that would go well with burgers?

Do you last.fm?

i like early confluences of the punk spirit with true roots music, tortured back county geniuses and 3rd world attempts at 1st world counterculture.

you seem to have at least dabbled in these species before so stick with what you know and i'll give it a fair listen and writeup

I'm not 100% sure that I know what you mean by this but it kinda screams Johnny Dowd to me. If I'm on the right track, are you familiar with Bob Frank?
