That's so awesome.

Paid my $5 and downloaded it a few days ago but haven't watched it yet. Will probably do that tonight.

It has now been confirmed that this newly discovered footage of David Bowie
playing Jean Jeanie live in the TOTP studio, January 1973 is going to be shown
on next Wednesday's TOTP2

Previous reports that the newly discovered recording of David Bowie's fabulous live
performance of 'The Jean Genie' on the BBC's 'Top of the Pops' on 4 January 1973
the master tape of which had been wiped by the BBC – would be shown on BBC2's forthcoming
'Top of the Pops 2' on 21 December were confirmed to be nothing more than wishful thinking.

But when a report on the BBC website, 'David Bowie Top of the Pops footage found by cameraman'
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ox ... e-16150178) attracted more than
100,000 hits in 48 hours, BBC executives decided to bring forward the re-transmission
date from BBC4 in the New Year to – guess when? – 'Top of the Pops 2' on BBC2 on
21 December 2011 from 7.30–9.00pm!

"The wait is over," said John Henshall, the former BBC cameraman who has kept
a broadcast quality copy of the recording safe in his archive since the day it was recorded,
"We should all be grateful to Mark Cooper, the BBC's Creative Head of Music Entertainment,
for making space in next week's programme. What a great Christmas treat for the
millions of Bowie fans who have been waiting to see this iconic performance for almost 39 years!"

I heard the audio from this live performance the other day. You can hear it played in
full at around 1 hour, 10 minutes into the show. Sounds very good. Bowie playing harp,
band playing fully live in the TOTP studio.

Christmas luncheon at my work consists of fried chicken, mac & cheese, green beans, watermelon and orange soda. I'm pretty sure Pat Robertson's head would explode in confusion.

Would it kill any of the TV networks to run Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas just once?

That's why I have an Amazon Video version on the Roku. The day after we watched it, it showed up on HBO. If you can find a DVD, the extras are pretty awesome, and I never watch that sort of thing.
