It's not really close to fair to compare the two at this stage of their careers and it's entirely possible that Lebron will have the better career but c'mon.

Kobe was certainly the best player on the 2008/9 and 2009/10 laker teams that won the championship and he's been all nba defensive team 12 times including 9 times first team.

I'd argue he was the best player for all FIVE of his championship teams. And third all time in playoff scoring. Kobe's at the end of his career... the Lebronettes can talk to me in ten years.

Now that's just not true and you know it...(and, I know I've said this a hundred times when this comes up but it bears repeating: I am a HUGE fan of Kobe and his game so I'm not hatin')

2000: Shaq averaged 30 and 15 in the playoffs and had more than twice as many win shares (4.7) as Kobe (2.1)
2001: You could argue that Shaq and Kobe were equals: Shaq was 26/13/2 Kobe 24.5/6/5; win shares about equal at 3.7 & 3.8
2002: Again, numbers fairly equal but Shaq ended up ahead in the win shares 3.8/2.6

I'd argue they aren't winning those three titles without Shaq but definitely could have won at least two of them without Kobe given a competent player at the two and Phil on the bench (remember, the league kind of sucked overall during this period)

ditto. although I can't figure out why LeBron doesn't just go to the rim any time he sees diaw on him and Tim's out of the game. Or why he thinks the refs are going to call a block on Green if he just bounces off. I think that's what makes LeBron so frustrating- it seems like he has such outsized physical gifts that ANY time he doesn't succeed, it feels like an affront against God's generosity. Conversely when someone like Parker hits 2 incredible shots, it's a testament to man overcoming his limitations.

Is it me or has Lebron not been able to make a lay-up for his life in the last few games, like the easy ones? Its frustrating to watch.

LeBron still doesn't have a very big bag of moves in the post; still a work in progress. And San Antonio has done a pretty fantastic job of defending him. I'm not using a stopwatch or anything but doesn't it seem like they could call defensive 3 seconds on SA everytime Miami runs that iso where LeBron dribbles at the top of the key and then drives? Like, dudes are just standing there waiting.

I got home (went out to watch the game) around midnight, went to bed at 12:30, probably didn't completely fall asleep until 1:30-2:00 or so, and had to wake up at 5:00.

Today is teh sux0rz.

Great series Spurs. Poppo is all class and his players are too. Leonard is going to be something big. Finally the Heat started sinking from outside like post game Battier said, " . . . eventually things regress to the mean." Pheeew.

If the stakes are high or a rival match I'll watch it. Saw Wambach break Mia Hamm's Intl. record while flipping channels last night. That was cool.

That's the one thing I'm focusing on to keep from being too overwhelmed by the way that series ended. He is a BEAST!

That's hilarious.

Also, why are Danny Ainge and that other guy dressed like high school gym coaches?
