This is kind of a mellow Friday morning listen, but it's tickling me in the right groove spot.

i don't care if this was posted before, i don't care to look. the song "high summer" mentions a little town called penetanguishene near my favorite place on earth, the 'ttage ma hal. so it wins.

That's a great area, been there many a time.

This is a case of just plain ripping off AC. At least on Be Cool and The Whale (from their MySpace)

I think there are a few here who will enjoy this.

From a Slant Magazine review:

A. Enlightenment B. Endarkenment (Hint: There Is No C), his first album since 2006's terrific Snake Farm, is nonetheless an astonishing work of contemporary observations and cockeyed poetry. It also happens to be one hell of a greasy rock record, steeped equally in Muddy Waters's chord progressions and in whiskey-drenched conventions of country and blues songwriting. At turns gritty, sloppy, and soulful, Enlightenment is perhaps the perfect antidote to the staid Americana scene.

holy shit you idiot, i'm not going to correct typos on reviews i post up so that folks have a little info on the album. i'm not that anal about it. i find a review, post it.

you obviously have nothing better to do. go post another retarded review of a completely shit album in your best of 2009 thread.

and kindly fuck off.

I don't know how anyone can hate on Dale or Dumpjack in this thread, considering they proved what, 99% of the links.

Sure, we could all find shit elsewhere, but if someone is going to find, aggregate, and post links to albums I like, I'm not going to bitch.

And ask Yail, Derris, Busty, Cap, Harry Monster, Pagoda, Hassler and whomever else we've brought here: I CAN BITCH ABOUT ANYTHING!

43 pages worth of uploads and i've only been interested enough to download one album which I later deleted. No offense to those who like this thread and are finding lots to their liking or to Dale or DJ but it just seems like a big thread of random albums from 2010 that I probably wouldn't like. Thus, I found the typo 'this is definitely one of the albums from 2010' fungeeb because it seems like an appropriate amount of enthusiasm to me.

FWIW, I don't think that's a typo as much as the omission of italics. Still funny though.

Oh yeah - I didn't think of that.

If that's how you feel, I don't think it's fair to blame it on this thread. I think most of the notable albums from 2010 have been posted in here. Maybe 2010 just hasn't been a good year for you (music-wise) when it comes to your own taste in music.

And if it HAS been a good year for you for new music, share the wealth and start posting the records we're missing out on. :D

Checked it out a little while ago. Ol' Ray [a Gar-man if there ever was] I guess has been around; I never heard of him 'til this. I liked it, not full on grab me but I'm giving it some time. Tentoze, Gar and DJ were on my mind when I first heard it.

His take on Drunken Poet's Dream is damned good- even better than co-writer Hayes Carll's. "I'm gonna holler, and I'm gonna scream, I'm gonna get me some mescaline..."

Jerry Jeff covered it, and probably has the more famous version of it so it's understandable.

I always thought it was a Cracker song what with the winged lizard references and all.
