I'm good with running through The Download Series if anyone else is?

The funniest thing about this thread is that it has made The Dead my "I'm bored, I don't want to think, I'll just throw on some of this" music.

Yep, I haven't listen to much Dead in the last few weeks.

So, Charlie and I have decided we'll start with Download Series Vol. 1 and keep going on through Vol 12.

Vol 1 is a choice cut from 77.

We can officially start it tomorrow. I played it today but I could easily put it on again. It was a solid '77 outing.

Yeah, I got through most of it today, but since I'm mostly covered up tomorrow feel free to count it as the official start date.

Yesterday's show as good. Nothing special, and marred by "Dancin" but there are few times I will turn down a 19 minute Lovelight!

But as far as 'Dancin'' goes, it was an early version which I kind of appreciated after all the jazzbo workouts from the late 70s.

Mexicali Blues is an oft-overlooked and underrated addition to any set, especially these tight, rockabilly focused ones like today's first disc.

Because of the way these are arranged, I just type in "Download" in my iTunes search bar, and they all come up. So, yesterday's set bled into this one for awhile. It sounded pretty good, weird opener, though.
