My goal is to go 13 more days without changing anything on my list. It's noble but probably futile.

The first step is just HAVING a goal. I generally don't, so when I actually come up with a one I all ready feel as though I've accomplished something.

Jeez. Now that's interesting.

But it's a very good list. Sometimes you read the lists and you can't get the sense of what a person listens for, for what pleases them. This list seems to make a kind of basic sense.

I'm going down to the wire this year. I did pull out everything that I bought or burned from 2005 today and its a larger list than I thought.

Here are the candidates in the groupings of relative likelihoods:

Virtual Locks:

Espers "The Weed Tree"
Max de Castro "Max de Castro"
Nacao Zumbi "Futura"
Ry Cooder "Chavez Ravine"
Oliver Mtukudzi "Nhava"
Salif Keita "M'Bemba"
South San Gabriel "The Carlton Chronicles"
Maximilian Hecker "Lady Sleep"
And You'll Know Us By the Trail of the Dead "Worlds Apart"
Archer Prewitt "Wilderness"
Richard Thompson "Front Parlour Ballads"
Greg Dulli "Amber Headlights"
Antony and the Johnsons "I'm A Bird Now"

On the bubble but would likely make it today:

Vashti Banyan "Lookaftering"
Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings "Naturally"
The Saints "Nothing is Straight in My House"
Bettye Lavette "I've Got My Own Hell To Raise"
Marianne Faithfull "Before the Poison"
The Pernice Brothers "Discover A Lovelier You"
Magnolia Electric Co. "What Comes After the Blues"

On the bubble but wouldn't likely make it today:

Bantu (featuring Ayuba) "Fuji Satisfactions: Soundclash in Lagos"
Amadou e Miriam "Damanche a Bamako"
Free Joseph "Speaking In Tongues"
Chango Spasiuk "Tarefero de Mis Pagos"
Laura Cantrell "Humming By the Flowered Vine"
Sam Prekop "Who's Your New Professor"
Brian Eno "Another Day on Earth"
Solomon Burke "Make Do With What You Got"

Have on order and hope to receive in time to consider:

N'Dongo Lo "Aduna"
Son Volt "Okemah And The Melody Of Riot"
Banda Uniao Black "Banda Uniao Black"
Joe Bataan "Call My Name"
Mary Gauthier "Mercy Now"

Like somewhat and will give at least one more listen prior to voting but extreme longshots at this point:

Micah P. Hinson "Micah P. Hinson & the Gospel of Progress"
Dwight Trible & The Life Force Trio "Love Is The Answer"
Echo & the Bunnymen "Siberia"
Josh Rouse "Nashville"
Teenage Fanclub "Man-made"
The Wedding Present "Take Fountain"
The Coral "Invisible Invasion"
Damien Jurado "On My Way to Absence"
Glen Phillips "Winter Pays for Summer"
Bob Mould "Body of Song"
The Deathray Davies "The Kick and the Snare"
Al Green "Everything's OK"
Spoon "Gimme Fiction"

Pretty much eliminated from consideration:

Devin Davis "Lonely People of the World, Unite!"
My Morning Jacket "Z"
Frank Black "Honeycomb"
Seu Jorge "The Life Aquatic Sessions"
Ryan Adams "Cold Roses"
The Decemberists "Picaresque"
Queens of the Stone Age "Lullabies to Paralyze"
Angels of Light "Other People"
Andrew Bird "The Mysterious Production of Eggs

Oh, I'm a moron all right. A moron with a mexican dinosaur on his chest. but regardless, I have a general idea of what my list was, but I fidgeted around with it a bit at the last minute.

 That is too funny. It looks like a mexican kangaroo.

By the way, the photo would've been much more satisfying with a nipple shot in there. Get it right next time.

No, it's safe for work. It just looks like Cotton had a few too many one night...and ended up with a "Mexican dinosaur on his chest".

Unless you work with Latino archaeologists, you're probably cool.

This is, obviously, I'm Wide Awake It's Morning. Something is screwy with the code. Haq's working on it.

quote marks in a table string value need to be dereferenced, like "I''m wide awake, it''s morning"
