i liked the part where tony was at his therapist - pretty funny dialogue there where we was trying to convince himself that he hates "fags"

I thought they both were.

Actually it's all one season, we just get the bulk of it now and then the denouement next year.

My mistake, 12 episodes instead of 13 for S6 and 8 episodes for S7.

paulie has been the best thing about this season by far.
best line last night when tony was mentioning how vito had lost so much weight and paulie replies with "AIDS??!!??"

Chris is giving Paulie a run with the funny lines. When they're talking about those two middle eastern dudes being terrorists and Chris mentions about it being unlikely because one of them has a dog, "I think it's springer spaniel."

And Tony in with Melfie "He's a faaaaagggg!"

It was a pretty funny episode, but it seemed to distract from the lack of any real story. The Vito angle is (A)lame and (B)offensive. Antiquing anyone?

These were awesome. Also, Tony just throwing money at the dude who's ass he beat, and then Finn..the Finn scene was funny as well, Can you fucking imagine having to do that in real life.

The Vito thing will go somewhere unexpected, I just can't figure out where yet ;)

Oh, and anyone else think everything points to Carm becoming a real boss bitch? She wants some security, wants to make some bank of her own, and doesn't take shit from anyone.

I guess it was predictable, but I KNEW that somehow it was gonna come down to Finn having to tell Tony about Vito I just couldnt figure out how. Well played.

And yeah, Big Pussy's old lady is definitely raising some jealousy by going all bucky. Carm wants a piece.

It's not that he's gay, it's the over the top stereotyping, e.g. Macho Man leather outfit, antiquing. It's clownish.

Not at all. But I don't really think that this tiptoeing out of the closet Mafia capo would happen to be a minstrel in cut-off jeans either.

I thought it was sort of dumb in "The Wire" when Rawls was in the background at the gay bar. But at least he was just part of the scenery.

I don't have a problem with the gays, but in Rawls' case, it probably gave a fair amount of people more reason to dislike him. It's a cheap shot on an already loathesome character that's not really necessary. Omar fits in just fine. Especially after they assassinated his boyfriend.

I think it is a bit irresponsible to make so many homosexual characters try to be as light in the loafers as Paul Lynde. It's not to deny subcultures of people, but right now there are still enough people out there that already characterize homosexuals as evil sodomites or just plain disgusting.

My general feeling is that the best way to implement genuine social change is to show people who are different how similar they are. I thought Tony's character did a good job of that when he asked Paulie if he was going to take care of Vito's kids if he were murdered. The gay Vito plotline is fine, but if they have him march in a parade with cutoffs or put up pictures of Judy Garland in his B&B room, I will turn it off and never watch again.

i didn't find it that hard to believe that a macho mob guy would be drawn to the over the top macho side of being gay.

I actually enjoyed tonight's episode. Damn, Artie is a habitual line-stepper with these mob guys. I totally was thinking that this is it for the guy.

actually, yeah, i think that's what i mean moreso than not liking the episode. i always dislike when artie's the focus of attention. he's not a bad character, but his problems cannot carry episodes.

although, rusty getting shot and christopher punching lauren bacall were pretty tops.

Good episode... Christopher commenting on the immorality of the celebrity gift bag grab was awesome.

Agree, too much Artie.. I was surprised he didn't get off'd.

More importantly, the middle eastern dudes are still playing a signficant background role. I see the series ending when the Soprano crew realize they enabled something bad to happen.

Yep, that's building to something. Of course, I say that every goddamn week "Oh yeah, they're building to something!" I've been saying that shit since Season 3 and the Russian in the woods.

But this time, maybe they are heading towards something!

I did a fucking spitake when that happened. Too funny.

I dunno, I think last night was pretty good. When I was watching it I thought it was a little slow, but I've heard some audio this morning that reminded me of all the great lines. I'll have to watch it again.

perfect example.

Artie's hand in the tomato sauce is the most painful thing I've seen on TV since Vic Mackey put that dude's face on a glowing hot electric range burner.
