Hey, did you guys hear that WII is making the controller for Mario Kart an actual STEERING WHEEL?

p.s. Who's Monty?

p.p.s. when it happens, I drink Guinness. Otherwise it's scotch.

That steering wheel sounds awesome, I guess Mario Kart is out early next year. New Mario, Metroid, and Smash Bros before the end of this year. Plus there is also a zapper gun thing for the next Resident Evil

I was just talking with a good friend of mine who is in a sketch comedy group and the biggest Nintendo fan I know. He submitted a Dr Mario sketch video they made to Nintendo for a contest and a few seconds of it was played during the beginning of the Nintendo E3 press conference. He is a pretty happy guy today.

Really, though, your question is the same as someone saying, "Who's Joe?"

I was being using the power of the thumb ring. I knew who you were/are. haha.

Fixed.

This is Yuengling country. So it is the one beer that you will find on tap all the time in every damn bar in town. (Except most brewpubs, obviously.)

It's not bad when your only other options are the Buds, Millers, Coors of the world. Otherwise I prefer to skip it.

Come fall, try the Octoberfest. Deee- lightful. Their standard "Harpoon Ale" is damn fine, as well.

Sierra Nevada IPA
Ale Asylum's Hoppolicious
Becks
High Life Light
Tyranena's Bitter Woman IPA
Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Bell's Hopslam Ale
Bell's Hell Hath No Fury Ale
Fat Tire
Sweetwater 420
Sprecher Special Amber

That being said, I'm with Derris. I am not afraid to buy 12-pack of whatever-the-fuck and drink it. If I was poor I'd be just as happy kickin' it with a 12 of Bud Light like I used to do ALL THE TIME.

It's just that now I don't have all the time in the world to drink, so I gotta pick my spots. And in those few hours that I have, I LIKE TO GET DRUNK!

Flying Dog In Heat Wheat
Allagash White Ale
Abita Turbo Dog
Yazoo Sly Rye Porter
Blue Moon
Red Stripe
Yuengling Lager
Duvel

Seems pretty ridiculous to me that we can't get Yeungling. I mean, they have it in SC and Alabama.

I haven't had that in years. Seems like it tasted like raisins, or something wierd, so I stopped buying it.

Abita Amber is pretty good.

The only time I ever went to New Orleans (2004, I think), I thought it was pretty cool how Abita on tap was $2 a pint.

Cap'n, you must be thinking of Abita Purple Haze. All of the Abitas are pretty good with the exception of that one. Turbodog being the best.

About Yuengling, I wanted to try it after all of the praise I'd seen for it on here. Finally got to try a pint on tap while in Gulf Shores, AL, a few weeks ago. I'm with those who put it in the "absolutely nothing special" catagory.

Of those readily available where I am, I like:

Sierra Nevada
Dead Guy
Grolsch
Blue Moon (but just a bit too fruity)

and the most common of all my choices, The High Life.

As noted, the specialness of Yuengling is entirely in the 'Hey, this is totally drinkable, and I just got a 24 pack for $11' feeling.

Also the brewery tour is fab and free, if you happen to find yourself in Pottsville.

Some of the most truly awesome hangovers I've had have been from ice beer, the kind where I'm in near tears and literally swallowing handfuls of painkillers.

Stay away from ice beer, you fools. That stuff doesn't even have any brewer's yeast in it - it's all been replaced by chemicals and irradiated leper urine. You're just lucky you lived through it.

Our tastes are fairly similar as well, but I think Purple Haze is damn good for what it is. It has Raspberries? in it, I think. There was a year there in college when all the cool keg parties needed a keg of this. Got real sick of it, but I drank a few a couple years ago and they were quite refreshing. Something good to have one of, or to start with if having 27-900.

as i say in these threads each time, yuengling used to be much better. I think their quality went way down when they went into massive expansion. I still drink it, but it's not as good as it used to be.

Dogfish Head Midas Touch is a recent favourite (it's their current limited beer)

and the description is just perfect -- it starts off like a brewski, and 'finishes' like a wine.
