I respectfully disagree. Marlo keeps shape-shifting, always one step ahead of the competition. It's to be seen how the Greek's will benefit as they were real quick to back that horse.

well he's now got omar after him. i'm sure slim charles will come after him too after what he did and maybe whatever crew hungryman was part of, if they can figure it out. i'm sure the police will figure somewhere into it too.

Not talking about Butchie... the other thing (which we can't talk about in this thread). The Butchie thing was extremely nearsighted... which makes this latest move almost come out of left field. I can't believe Omar would think Joe or Slim had anything to do with it.

Slim is a man without a nation, and a fucking pussy to boot. Cheese has been taking it up the ass for far too long... there ain't no safe harbor there neither.

That's true... nigga paid his dues but he seems to be more civilized these days. He's gonna have to step it up to stay ahead now.

God fucking dammit... it's taking everything I got not to nab 5,6, & 7. I want to make this last as long as possible.

You mean the ones that ended with at least one member of their own team dead?
Slim's smarter than the average bear, but he slips up a lot.

Happy to see another thread for those doing the on-demand thing.
This "official" one should be for the hbo sunday night reaction.

Hey, it's almost Lost time, for at least 8 episodes, and damn it to hell, I know most of the spoilers because I can't help myself.

Re: "The Headshot", i.e. the falsified mortgage application from Clay Davis.

This is what sent former Baltimore Police and later State Police Commissioner Ed Norris to federal prison. Norris appears on the show as a homicide detective of the same name. He's the bald guy with the goatee and thick New York accent, as he came from NYPD to Charm City. You may also remember him as the guy who pukes outside the bar of Cole's wake. Actually, that's Norris sitting across from Landsman while Landsman reads of Burrell's resignation in The Sun.

Anyway, the short story is that Norris received a loan of around nine grand (if memory serves) from his father, but stated it as a gift on his loan application. There were other charges in play that involved Norris using a police account to buy his mistress(es) gifts, but the main charge was that mortgage application.

Norris disputes the mistress charges, as well as the inappropriate use of funds charges, but plead guilty to the mortgage charge, because he was caught. He admits that not reporting the income properly was a mistake, but he also maintains, correctly, that perhaps the punishment is a bit excessive for a crime that happens pretty frequently.

Currently, Norris hosts one of the best talk radio shows I've ever heard, and there has been talk of national syndication. If you get a wild hair, I believe you can stream his show live during the week [ Link to EdNorris.com ]

I loved him in this season's first bit, with Bunk and the copy machine/lie detector.

"Americans are stupid people, by and large."

Something told me he wasn't an experienced actor and was prolly one of David Simon's many B'more Hall of Shame cameos.

Thanks Fu!

Prop Joe & Ervin Burrell went to Dunbar High School, which was a hotbed of future NBA talent, especially back in the 1980s, including...

Reggie Lewis
Muggsy Bogues
David Wingate
Reggie Williams
Sam Cassell
Keith Booth

R.I.P. Prop Joe

As much as a power grab, anyone think Marlo carried this out because he suspects Joe was the one who put Omar up on Marlo's card game that got robbed?
Just a thought.

Also prediction: Rawls is gonna get hold of Daniels' old file, leak it to that douche at the Sun and be commish for life.

I think Marlo's philosophy is kill or be killed. I mean, honestly, Prop was ripe for the taking and its not like there are a lot of Rhodes Scholars in the co-op looking to run shit. If things had been different, I could see String/Avon doing the same thing.

tough loss yesterday, but at least The Wire more than made up for it.

Also, Marlo's face after they did Joe was just pure fucking evil.

"Mahlo?"

Absolutely. I've told a few people over the week that Marlo's officially graduated from scheming, devious and cold-blooded to unbridled, concentrated EEEEE-VIL.

Get over to the spoiler thread so we can talk Ep5.

I wudn't made to play the son role.

Slim's a man without a home again. But you know he's onto Cheese, that could be as interesting a subplot as Omar v. Marlo.
