In their continued quest for world domination, Kings of Leon have ventured into the business of high fashion. Following in the footsteps of rockers like Liam Gallagher, Gossip's Beth Ditto and Scott Weiland, Black Book is reporting that the Nashville-based foursome has teamed with the Paris design team Surface to Air for a limited-edition clothing line, which is set to hit Copenhagen's Paris Texas boutique before the year is out.

The Followills -- siblings Caleb, Jared, Nathan and their cousin Matthew -- are already synonymous with skinny jeans, leather boots, wide-brimmed hats and flannel. Speaking of the latter, KOL's collection will boast green and red flannels, which is little surprise considering the band's rural Southern roots. There are also plans for a black leather bomber jacket, patchwork dark denim pants, braided belts and a red bandana to boot.

Interested shoppers should be forewarned that when the Kings say "limited" they really mean it. When the clothes hit the racks at Paris Texas in early December, there will only be a few pieces of each style to be stocked.

Considerably more accessible to fans, the band's DVD 'Live at the O2 London, England' drops Nov. 10. Produced by Emer Patten and lensed by director Nick Wickham, the show was shot this past June in front of 18,000 rabid fans.

As opposed to KoL who are just getting sad, I think Weezer has gotten progressively more awesome the more they disappoint their loyal fans. I like to imagine Rivers' smug satisfaction every time he reads how unbelievably shitty they are and how they'll never top The Blue Album and Pinkerton.

i think everyone expecting another blue album or pinkerton from weezer jumped the bandwagon long ago. but at least they had two good records.

Be sure to watch 1:35 - 2:49 section to see the interview with Rick Derris' stand-in.

flannel shirt, tight jeans, boots, do rag on the head, cutesy hair

southern fried fashioncore

I couldn't agree more with this statement but I have to say when I first saw them at Austin City Limits in 2003, they were god damn exciting.

I agree with Rolled's agreement and gloss on Dalen's comment.

Problem is, their 3rd album is their peak.

Say what you will, but I'd much rather these guys be the most popular band in the world than Nickleback or the Foo Fighers or some other bogan shit.

Yeah I think this may have been my point a while back but I've forgotten. Totally agree.

Interesting.

I was thinking about this the other day, and it occurred to me that I really don't care who the most popular band in the world is. Modern technology has allowed me to completely insulate myself from top 100 radio. I can successfully avoid any band with almost no effort.

If one doesn't listen to terrestrial radio or read magazines or other communicative domains geared towards "top 100", how would one hear about it? I can say I really didn't know KoL were getting Middle America Big until this thread and then seeing them on the morning news show. Like Rads said earlier here, that kind of exposure is reserved for Britneys and Beyonces.

I wish that they hadn't become so popular for a purely personal reason.

Me: Hi I'm Leon

Them: Like Kings of Leon?

Me: No

I do like Because of the Times fairly well though

i think (read: know) i've become old and boring cuz i genuinely, genuinely like kings of leon, including the new record. thought the show at the local enormodome was musically great, if audiencely brutally miserably awful. (specifically: dbag spraying beer all over me with his mouf, cuz that's whatcha do at the big rock show!)
