(As an aside, over the past year or so Linkins' column has completely eliminated my need to A. watch the Sunday shows or B. read Frank Rich or whoever is speaking the Left's talking points. One stop shopping!)

So the Unions are offering an 8% pay cut for Walker to quit this union busting measure. 8% is fairly large.

This is an example of the American mind-fuck disease.

For many years workers in factories would be injuried because of work-conditions and fired summarily. No compensation for putting their bodies at risk. (At one point in the 80's I worked with many undocumented workers who, given their status, could not claim worker's compensation... hands cut off, backs broken from falls, lung disease from chemicals... fired, lost income, with not a penny... i.e. just like all workers before the 1940s). But "litigation" and "lawyers" have become the enemies of "real Americans"... unless they are arguing conservative causes (Bush v Gore, Citizens United). Working people seeking compensation for injuries are somehow "scandalous" while spreadsheet-oligarchs destroying economies with greedy and dangerous speculative financial practices get a pass.

Unions (collective bargaining and labor law) should take great pride in figuring out that damaging bodies for a lifetime purely for higher percentages of profit for a very few needs some oversight.

I should have been clearer.It read differently than I intended. In this day and age, workers would probably do better without worker's comp. In that they would get more money (at least here). In today's litigation, companies save A TON OF MONEY with worker's comp.

Has nothing to do with politics. I know the historical evolution of worker's comp better than you.

He has zero interest in negotiating. None. And is trying to trick the Dems into coming back into the state under a false-ish pretense of "talking," so they can call session and make them vote.
