I only made it a third of the way through this show but qualitatively speaking, I dug it more than the Newcastle show already. I woke up 30 minutes ago with Black-Throated Wind rattling through my head. That was a first. Perhaps coincidentally, we have 70 km/hr gusts outside my window.

agreed. that newcastle show just seemed...sluggish? i don't know, the energy level just seemed off, especially in the first set. i do agree with everyone above who said pigpen is killing it so far.

so just how long will i have to wait for a damn "Morning Dew"? i'm trying not to spoil it by looking ahead.

I'm already falling way behind on this thread but let me say that the 4/8 show (second Wembley) I listened to with my girlfriend while in Yellowstone and Dark Star was playing while I drove and stopped around the best sunset ever so that shit is pretty special at this point.

I haven't heard a note of this week's show. I think tomorrow's the day.

Solid, solid show. I can't wait to give it another spin.

"You Win Again" is sort of the poster child for Garcia's weakness as a lead vocalist. Great song, poor execution.

I'm always surprised how much I get sucked into a good "Playin'..." jam. No exception here.

On the Looks Like Rain, pretty close but I'd say that last show is better.

Finally getting around to the 4/11 show...

This "Looks Like Rain" is even more lethargic and slippery than the last/first slide version we heard. I like it a lot. Vocally, it's even more overwrought, and it works nice with the slide, I believe.

Other highlights:

- Black Throated Wind
- Big Boss Man
- Next Time You See Me!

I'm completely fucking behind. I wasn't able to get 5 min to listen to this show so it's big time catchup this weekend. God help the missus, but it's all Dead this Saturday.

Should we take a week off? You guys are not comporting yourselves very well.

I haven't finished this week's show, but should this weekend.

The past week in Banff learning about Addiction has eaten into my Dead time. As a professional, I have no choice but to catch up on my work and leisure responsibilities when I can.

I'm playing it now. 'Black Throated Wind' is becoming my favourite song.

Also, when I jumped in the truck today, first song I heard was Tennessee Jed from some Feb/73 show.

I picked it up again today and it was nice to see some fresh blood here with Mexicala Blues and Dire Wolf, the former being a standout for me actually. I'm finishing it off tomorrow, hoping for a strong finish.

i did
the volume of songs scared me off, but it was a fairly kick ass and relentless run through.

maybe my favorite show ending yet.
