It's only fitting that the greatest series in NBA history was decided in OT. I wish my Spurs would have pulled it out, but the Mavs legitimately proved to be the better team. Congrats to Avery and Co.

It was indeed a one of the best playoffs series i've ever witnessed.

The refs were equally bad for both teams. I could bitch all summer about how Duncan got absolutely mauled on the final shot of regulation, but I won't, because there were plenty of bad calls against the Mavs, too.

Yeah, I found it odd that the Spurs went the entire third quarter with committing a foul, while Duncan was fouled everytime he touched the ball, guaranteed.

Amazing that they held on. I figured when Harris committed that dead ball foul and they still had the ball down 4 they would hit a couple of threes and win it on an Horry shot at the end. Ugh. Glad it turned out the way it did,

It wasnt a flop, but I thought the play that defined this series was at the end, when Duncan clearly came across the arm of Howard, as he was driving to the basket and then had the nerve to look at Steve Javie with that incredulous "who, me?" stare and beg not to have the foul. I mean, he hit the guy on the arm while he was shooting.

Thats the definition of a foul. Every player on both teams feel that they never committed a foul the entire week. I think Van Horn is the one who really got screwed, because only about half his were actually fouls, the rest were so ticky-tack.

Not a true statement.

And concerning the end of regulation: Duncan didn't even have complete control and the shot was blocked from behind. That was one of the few good no calls.

I am so glad I did not actually get to witness the end of this game due to work. I would have been cussing either way. I'm glad the Mavs eliminated one of the title teams from last year, but they almost deserved to lose after allowing the Spurs to tie the series up at 3-3 and force OT in game 7 after having a 16pt lead.
If the Suns can hold their lead of 10, the Western Conference series will be friend vs. friend, Nash vs. Nowitzki. Probably not the series the NBA officials really wanted, but it should be better than the Heat/Pistons series

All I'm gonna say is the Mavs BETTER NOT HAVE A LETDOWN AGAINST THE SUNS. I will be SUPREMELY PISSED if my Spurs were dethroned by a team unable to close the deal after finally vanquishing their tormentors. Just remember...the "Miracle on Ice" would only be a minor footnote if Team USA hadn't maintained focus and gone on to win the Gold Medal.

Somebody still needs to punch Mark Cuban in the nuts. Maybe Jason Terry will try to renegotiate in the off-season, and then it will happen for sure.

I am looking forward to "Spurs: Reloaded" in 2006-07. I expect a 40-50% overhaul of the team. Tim, Tony, Manu, Bruce, and Finley stay - also most everyone else is expendable. I expect PJ Brown to be a trade target for SA.

Yeah, I've gone from being periodically amused by his antics to pretty much hoping a flatbed Jayne Mansfields his ass.

Phoenix leads game one early by 7pts. We'll see how their defense holds up late in the game.

Dallas are pussies. They essentially play a perfect series against SA, then can't even beat Steve Nash and a hobbling, one-legged Marion (who, incidentally, have no bench)? Abysmal.

Yeah, they fucking piss me off. They waited until AFTER the Spurs series to start laying turds.

Yeah, Phoenix lulled them to sleep with that poor 3 point shooting and then they leave the best player on the court wide open from three twice in the final 100 seconds. Eerily reminiscent of last year.

And why...why was Jerry Stackhouse, arguably the worst defender still in the playoffs (after Darrell Armstrong) guarding Diaw? I know it was a busted play but still. Where was Diop or Adrian Griffin. My lineup for the last shot:

Devin Harris - Barbosa
Keith Van Horn - House
Dirk Nowitzki - Marion
Adrian Griffin - Diaw
Marquis Daniels - Nash

Maybe Avery will listen to me from now on.

Drinking has officially started for me , gearing up for the Heat-Pistons Game 4 tonight. I'm starting off with a nice Bloody Mary.

Looks like some Wizards players had a few last night as well.

Arenas, Storey arrested on South Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas and forward Awvee Storey have been arrested on charges of disobeying police.

Storey was blocking traffic in the middle of a busy street when an officer told him to get back to the sidewalk Saturday night, according to police reports. Storey didn't get out of the street, and the officer arrested him and charged him with failure to obey a command.

While police were arresting Storey, Arenas got out of a vehicle and walked toward the arresting officers. According to reports, an officer told Arenas to get back in his vehicle, but he refused, saying he wanted to stand next to his teammate. The officer took Arenas into custody and charged him with resisting without violence.

As Arenas was being arrested, according to reports, he said, "You can't arrest me. I'm a basketball player. I play for the Washington Wizards, and I'm not going to leave my teammate."

Both players were then taken to jail for processing.

The Wizards released a statement saying, "We are aware of the situation and, until we have more information, we will have no comment."

The two were arrested as part of a crackdown on disorderly behavior among those who flocked to Miami Beach for Memorial Day weekend.

A total of 557 people were arrested between Thursday morning and Saturday night on Miami Beach. Most arrests were for disorderly conduct and intoxication. During the same three-day period last year, there were 333 arrests.

"We're definitely over from last year," Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said. "We're working a lot more plainclothes officers, so you're obviously going to make more arrests."

That was just sick. I know exactly the shot your talkin 'bout.

Taking a pass from Gary Payton, Wade drove diagonally down the lane, leaped over McDyess, got fouled, tossed the ball over his shoulder -- and scored, his three-point play putting Miami up 65-61.

Hot diggety damn is Ben Wallace sucking right now or what?!

4.3 ppg in playoffs.

0.33 bpg in the conference finals.

Sheed isn't doing much better either. He's choking like he did last year against the Spurs.

Please, somebody fix the Pistons.

Antoine Walker, Gary Payton, and White Chocolate getting a ring could give me a heart attack.

Man oh man has Detroit been horrible in the playoffs this year.

While I was disappointed that my Spurs lost (to a 60-win team in overtime of Game 7), how must the Pistons fans feel after a 64-win season? Amazing hubris and ego.
