I can't wait to see Frontier(s).

Apparently, it's being released May 9th in theatres and then on dvd on the 12th.

i saw neil marshall's (the descent) doomsday last night. not really horror but more like a combo of mad max, escape from new york, cannibal holocaust minus the jungle setting, excalibur and aeon flux (the movie).
it was decent and pretty gory but not as good as dog soldiers or the descent. my friend said it was like a really good ewe boll movie.

all the after dark 2007 horrorfest movies came out today. only one i got to see in the theatre was mulberry st and a few of them look really lame (lake dead). i'm watching tooth and nail now.

also, here you go cotton.

Quote:
At first it was announced as a prequel/remake/re-imagining, much like the Rob Zombie "Halloween" film was. As of December 2007, it is still unclear as to what this movie will follow. All that is known is that Jason will wear the pillow case (which he only wore in "Friday the 13th Part 2" (1981)) as well as the hockey mask (which was introduced in "Friday the 13th Part III" (1982) and has been worn since by Jason). It has also been stated that Jason's psychotic mother, Pamela Voorhees (originally playing the antagonist in the original "Friday the 13th" (1980) film) and his regarded nemesis Tommy Jarvis (introduced in "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter" (1984) and appearing in "Friday the 13th: A New Beginning" (1985) and "Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives" (1986)) will most likely make an appearance.

You know, I'm glad someone bumped this thread. I was putting together a list of favorite films, and I realized there weren't any horror films on it. I would like to have a favorite horror movie. Any suggestions? I have a "horror movie that I find scariest" (Prince of Darkness), but that's not the same thing as my favorite.

Mmm...Near Dark, good call, that's definitely in my favorite movies list, although I'm not sure how much of a horror movie it is...well, that bar scene was pretty horrific...also not sure how horrific Devil's Backbone was...but yeah, I guess in lieu of any other category...

If any of you get the temptation to rent a movie called Primal, just don't.
I didn't make it through the first 10 minutes.

Good news: Peeping Tom is free on Fearnet this month.

There is this horror movie that came out sometime last year.
I've only seen the trailer once, but I can't think of the title.

It's about some weird kid.
The title has his name.

Anyone?

it was pretty good, though the wife was annoying. it's way better than, whisper, the other "weird kid" movie released about the same time which was just a ripoff of the omen.

these would make my list. i think re-animator is more camp than scare, and i can't watch audition anymore. i won't, ever again. once was more than enough. ackkkkk.

i'll back up someone else's alien pick... the first time i saw it, it came close to scaring my ass off (it didn't. i have a lot of ass to go around.)

night of the living dead... and an oldie but goodie, curse of the demon. some folk think the demon looks crappy. i had nightmares about it (and that sound it makes) for years.

five million years to earth, an old brit movie of the quatermass series... creepy.

i have a... bone to pick with the descent (ahem), but for the most part, it creeped me out.

oh, and i think the klowns in killer klowns from outer space are scary as all hell. even in the context of the rest of such a silly movie.

I liked it a lot... More on the psycological side of scary, plus there's pretty good acting throughout...

Saw the Mist last night - pretty decent, nothing to search out but good enough to catch on cable.

and, for the record, I'm quite partial to Halloween 6, though I wish they had followed through on the "Thorn Trilogy" idea...

Alright, I just put this on top of my list for my netflix queue (next to planet earth and I Am Legend).

I love how you can watch movies from netflix on your pc now.

I've never seen JFK.
Planning on watching it this week.

Getting back on track, i'm a huge fan of the horror/monster genre.

Are there any movies from the Master Of Horror series worth watching?

most of them are pretty silly/awful. the only ones i own are cigarette burns by john carpenter and imprint by takashi miike.

the ones i thought were decent were...

incident on and off a mountain road by don coscarelli (basket case)
hp lovecraft's dreams in the witch-house by stuart gordon (re-animator)
homecoming by joe dante (the howling, gremlins)
deer woman by john landis (american werewolf in london)
sounds like by brad anderson (session 9)
pelts by dario argento (suspiria)

Pretty good, but not as good as the standouts from Season one (which I say are Deer Woman, Incident, Pelts, and Cigarette Burns)...

Trailer for Quarantine. remake of [REC].

also, maybe this will be good.

Quote:
Adrien Brody (The Darjeeling Limited), Emmanuelle Seigner and Elsa Pataky have signed on to star in "Giallo," the latest thriller from Italian horror director Dario Argento.

"Giallo" revolves around an American flight attendant who teams with an Italian investigator to search for her missing sister who has been abducted by a serial killer known only as Yellow.

The term "giallo" means "yellow" in Italian and also refers to the Italian pulp, horror and erotic genre of film and literature. Argento has built his name with movies that combine horror and eroticism such as 1977's "Suspiria" and last year's "The Mother of Tears."

"Giallo" might mark the first time an actor of Brody's caliber has starred in an Argento film. The film has been written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller. Production is set to start May 12th in Torino, Italy, with post-production work done in Los Angeles.
