So sorry to hear the news.

I had learned my closest of friends has a singular incurable esophageal cancer now in his stomach and liver since just before Thanksgiving. Treatment has been aggressive and he is still living as normal a life day to day with less weight, energy and hair. Most everyone close in his life came in town for the holidays. It is real and surreal. He is an Uncle to my children [my daughter's "2nd favorite Dad"] and a hero in my life, a real brother going through life's stuff, good and bad. I sure love every minute I can be with him as always before but knowing it is limited is unbelievable but there.

Sorry to hear of this, as well. Stay strong, Tommy.

My mom had surgery to remove the lump after months of chemo on monday...got word yesterday, on my parents anniversary, that testing shows she's now cancer free...starts radiation in a few weeks.

Got the stomach punch call this week that my mom now has Stage 4 terminal breast cancer that's spread to her liver. Her last cancer screening came back clean in June...apparently this thing spread fast. Combined with her MS she might have as little as 4 weeks....hopefully longer. I now have to plan and prepare for a final trip to see her with the grandkids.

Awful news. Will keep good thoughts for her, you, and your entire family, Matt.

Very sorry to hear that. My advice would be to try to see her as soon as you can while her mind is still strong. Hope for the best, brace for the worst and take comfort in knowing that if she does go quickly that's probably the second best thing (even if a distant second) to a recovery.

when my dad was diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months, i moved back to Oregon to spend time with him...he ended up living 3 and a half years. you just never know what will happen.

Got back from seeing my mom on Saturday. Found out this morning that she passed. We got a chance to say goodbye. It's crazy how fast this happened. Thanks for all the kind words.

Sorry again, for your loss! You got a chance to say goodbye, which should provide you with 'some' comfort. Thoughts are with ya!

Man, so sorry. On a positive note, I don't think that I could script a better scenario for the end of my mom's life and being able to see/meet for the last time.

All the love to you and your Family. I hope you find a way to work through it well and come to peace with the suddenness of it all.

REALLY sorry to hear it Matt, though yeah it could've been worse. Sucks.
