I'm posting at work (ok, an unpaid internship) for the first time. Maybe I can get fired for it and live up to an obner tradition.

You don't want to work for a company that doesn't support your right to Obner on their internet.

I'll give you that, Dale, but careful with making blanket statements; I'd be none too pleased to share festival space with a screamo child and be privy to diaper changing in public.

I can't speak for Dale, but I think you are both referring to the same sort of person - We bring Ruby lots of places, but if she acts out then one or both of us will leave with her so as not to interrupt others. And we don't usually do the flat out in the open diaper changes unless there are no other options - even then we try to be discreet.

The people you are both referring to are the people who consider their dogs or children to be extensions/accessories of themselves, like a purse or a nice watch.

Rode in a police car today. Let cops into an apartment where they thought a tenant might potentially be dead. The apartment was dark except for a red light emanating from his bedroom, which I thought was only used as a tool of symbolism in movies. He wasn't there. As the cop drove me back to work he said "that's good, because I really hate finding dead bodies".

Con: finding dead bodies
Pro: everyone waves to you (as per my observation and subsequent question to him - in a small town in Vermont, at least...)

I'm the property manager for three small apartment buildings. Apparently, one of our tenants has a restraining order against him and has not checked in with his probation officer of late. They told me it was solely a "welfare check" and "nothing criminal", but after calling everyone he knows, who did not know his whereabouts, they had to check his apartment just to make sure he hadn't died in there.

i'll have you know, Sébastian did very well at Coachella. shockingly good. did not cry one time, and he was changed out of public view...you know, 'cause we actually care, unlike many parents.

I'm just glad to see non-thermal EMF effects being discussed in the US media.
