I think Konono No. 1 is probably the best of that whole Congotronics bunch, though. The first Congotronics has really held up, and the live album they put out a few years ago is great as well.

I don't have enormous expectations from them, though. They could keep churning out slight variations on the exact same thing, and at the rate of one proper album every five years, I don't think I'm going to get sick of it.

very good album -- not sure it's quite AOTY quality, but solid for sure.

Tame Impala are pretty good.

I haven't heard this new one yet though. They're definitely one of the brighter spots on the popular Australian music circuit at the moment.

Anyone have a link for the new Jakob Dylan record? His touring band is actually Neko Case's touring band (including Neko and Kelly Hogan).
