To be fair, yes, this shows Elvis' commitment to the hit and run. Honorable, but it cost him a strike, and I'm not sure the base running result. |

Giving up a strike to help avoid getting an out seems an okay trade. Certainly, if he had fouled it off like he was attempting to do it would still have been a strike (unless he just struck out, in which case he's dumb). Obviously, the pitcher was willing to give up a ball for the opposite result. |
