It catches the caps, and it is removable.

I just found a guy that makes 'em online.

Currently sold out but I'm contacting him. Awesome for a home bar.

Had one of these the other night. I couldn't finish the whole bottle. One pint of this is plenty, as you really get the alcohol bite from it and the flavor is just too intense for multiple pours.

The first semi-dud I think I've had from them. I didn't get this beer at all. It's not as off-putting as Sam Adams summer beer, but it wasn't right. I guess it's harder to do these well than I realized, because Victory is normally a solid performer. C+

and fuck there are more... where are my pics?

I couldn't agree more, for me it's just very boring, and I'm a Victory homer..I love most of all their stuff..With their 2 releases this year the did real good with the Headwaters Pale Ale, and crapped the bed on the Summer Love...

Just ordered:

2 2010 Goose Island "Matilda" Belgian Style Ale, Illinois 12oz @ $3.49
2 Victory Brewing "Prima Pils" Pilsner, Pennsylvania 22oz @ $3.49

1 Russian River Brewing "Blind Pig" IPA 500ml @ $4.30
1 Russian River Brewing Co. "Consecration" Wild Ale, California 375ml @ $11.99

Never had any of those. Which should I be most excited about?

I can't get Russian River down here but I'll get there someday. Pliny the Elder is like a myth for beer fans down here.

That Goose Island is spicy, clean, and with hints of pears and apricots (IMO) but it isn't a fruity beer. Shit is incredible. I'm on record with Victory. Just a solid brewery that does a LOT of things right. Prima Pils is one of the best pilsners around. Not a crazy beer, just drinkable and solid.

Half the beer in my fridge is Pliny and I have four more from another order to pick up. It's a really great beer.

Drinkable and Solid is pretty much what you look for in a pilsner. Should be a good summer one.

The Blind Pig got cancelled on me. I guess I'll have to try again some other time on that one.

Thanks for your thoughts.

If you ever want to set up a trade for a few Plineys or Blind Pigs, just let me know..If there are things I can get in PA that you are looking for I'd be happy to set something up..We only get Pliney and Blind Pig on tap in a few places in the city..I even emailed Vinny from RR to see what we could do to get Pliney or BPig bottles in philly and he basically said they like to keep those all local in CA with the bottle shipments. We get a boat load of Consecration and Damnation bottles, but no Pliney or B Pig..

When I was in Philly last month, I kept singing The Walkmen's "Victory" every time I saw their signs. Of course no one I was with even remotely understand why...

Good beer.

Took this guy down at a party at someone's house, and it was smoooooooth sailing. Still love this brewery. The lawnmower is perfect. It was clean, mellow, and yet absolutely not boring. Sunshine and possibilities. No longer available, glad I got it while I could. A-

I just got one of these the other day. Didn't realize it was 7% til halfway through. I should see if they still have some available.

It's one of my favorite stouts for the price. I know a local craft brewer who bought a 15 gallon keg of this beer for $65 when one of my favorite craft beer bars closed recently. I wish I would have investigated their fire sale and taken that keg from them instead of him.

I went to the Great Divide brewery last month when in Denver for work. Good beer. Fortunately their stuff is available in CA through Stone.

Tonight I went to O'Briens and had some Alpine Nelson Rye IPA. Totally my favorite beer. Best beer in SD. Best beer. So good. Also had Sculpin.

If you get a chance to try this beer, don't pass it up. It is pretty damn good. It's like an iced coffee with a hint of stout, so it is more of a session beer than a slow sipper. You definitely need to love coffee as much as you beer to really enjoy this one.

This restaurant I went to last night had Dogfish 120 on tap. It was real good but they'd only let you get 2.

I forgot to mention the Chatoe Rogue First Growth Oregasmic ale I had on tap Friday Night.
I wasn't too impressed with it. It wasn't bad for an APA, but it seemed to have more bitterness than a 40 IBU beer should normally have, and it didn't really accentuate the overall flavor of the beer.

There's way too many Sierra Nevada's at the top of that list.

The Home Brewers list isn't really that much different from the Beer Advocate or Rate Beer list, except for the fact that it tends to rate the Hop Bomb IPA's higher than most of the Big Boozy Imperial Stouts. I will say that the Beer Advocate and Rate Beer least seem a bit more diverse and certainly don't give as much props to the likes of Sierra Nevada and Boston Brewing Co.

For reference, here are the Rate Beer and Beer Advocate list of best American Beers.

I tried Supper Club by Capital Brewery tonight. It was certainly on par with Lucky Bucket Pre-Prohibition Lager here in Nebraska.

FYI, Abita is going to be selling beer in cans.

North Coast Brewing - Brother Theolonious

North Coast's take on a Belgian Dubbel. I continue to be impressed with North Coast. I can't think of a single beer I've had of their that's been anything less than interesting on one end and great on the other (or both). They just simply know what the hell they're doing.

This, IMO, is a pretty solid take on the style. Little bit sweet but it has that funky Belgian yeasty smell and taste to it. Really easy drinking for a 9.4% ABV. I'd serve this most anytime in the evening but definitely post-dinner.

It's not going to challenge the true Belgians any time soon but it's easily one of the better American takes I've had yet.

Cool, I've seen Thelonius but never tried it.

(Supper Club) A killer session cheap beer. I really dug it. So watery and yet still good.

(Abita) The trend continues, I see. Good news for can lovers.

Bud
Miller
Sam Adams
Harpoon IPA

are the most widely distributed things around here, pretty much in that order. And given how sick I am of SA stuff, I wind up consuming a LOT of the Harpoon. Plus they support bicycle stuff around boston pretty generously, so I like to give back*.
