Someone should start an index (and keep updating it) for this thread before it gets too much larger. You know, what's been done, by whom, and what page to find it on.

Don't look at me, I'm just the idea man.

Yeah he is. I didn't realize you were that big a fan. If you have a chance to see him live do it. He's great.

I picked up Pictures from Life's Other Side way back in the eMusic unlimited days, but I never quite got into it. A little while back I was thinning out some files, and threw it on. I must have listened to it 3x a day for several weeks. It would crack me up when people would come into my office while it was playing.

I haven't listened to this band in a while, but this strikes me as a pretty solid representation. I put "My Narrow Mind" on an ob mix 2 or so years ago and it got mixed reactions.

Okay, the dirtiest of dirty hippie music- proto-psych-folk from Tom Rapp/ Pearls Before Swine. Probably not to the taste of many, if any, here. If nothing else, contains the most powerful anti- Vietnam War song I ever heard- The Fourth Of July.

RIYL: who knows- dirty hippies. Think maybe Vetiver, Espers, and definitely Damon & Naomi.

The best ones of these that I have heard so far - Bloor's Hold Steady, Rads' Rancid and my own Ice Cube really just get you to the point where you want MORE - and that's a good thing - all killer no filler.

I would download some of tentoze's selections, but after getting cancer from thar Ronnie Lane mix, I really don't WANT the ebola virus.
