Right now I'd take Seattle (+2) and Under (47). I feel better about the under of the two.

I agree with the under...that's likely the better bet than the spread.
Nonetheless, I have a feeling Seattle is going to shit the bed.

Define "Shit the Bed" - This team hasn't lost by more than 7 points in two and a half years....so if you are predicting a blowout, I think you will be sadly mistaken. Could the Hawks lose? Absolutely, but they'll keep themselves in position to have a chance at the end.

Also, an interesting bit of history - During the Super Bowl era, the team with the #1 offense has played the team with the #1 defense 4 times - The team with the #1 defense has won 3 out of 4 of those times.

Shit the bed as in not live up to expectations. If Seattle plays at top level where they were in the middle of the year, they have a chance to win but their last few performances have been underwhelming on the offensive front.

I like the Broncos by a couple of points right now. Might change my mind later in the week.

Nothing against SEATAC, but I'm riding with the team with the Damndest Goodest Dawgs: Champ B and KNOW and them Denver Broncs.

I usually root for northwest teams, but I kind of hate the Seahawks. The bandwagon fans will be going crazy if they win. I also don't love the Broncos or Peyton Manning's face. Broncos have won a bowl before. I just don't know.

"Throwing ducks" = eating crow.

I've heard enough from Richard Sherman for a year or ten.

I'm rooting for the Seahawks.

Interesting note (maybe for me only): 4 former NC State football players in the Superbowl, second most behind Tennessee (another head scratcher).

There is this billboard that went up in Raleigh recently (note the misspelling):

In like measure, I wish he'd shut up and/or the media would leave it alone. He's becoming a caricature.

No, this was on Capital Blvd in Raleigh. Some Wisky fan trying to epically troll State fans. This went up a day or so later in response at the same location:

Wilson is a rootable guy but if I was a State fan, I'd hate his guts.

I'm actually surprised he's been given a pass by the media for that whole thing.

Huh??? Do you know the story Derris? He had been playing baseball in the summers and wanted the chance to play minor league baseball to o see how it would work out and NC State basically said if you want to do that, then Mike Glennon is going to be the starter the next season. Since Russell had graduated he had the option of transferring without having to sit out, so he did just that.

My understanding is that there was actually no hard feelings between NC State and Wilson, Glennon ended up being a pretty decent QB for them and Wilson was able to succeed at Wisconsin.

Also, anybody who has ever watched Russell Wilson play for any extended period of time knows how quality of a football player and also how quality of a HUMAN that Russell is.....so I seriously doubt NC State fans harbor any ill will towards him.

Richmond would also like to take responsibility for Wilson's success. I think he went to high school here or something. Which is clearly where he learned how to play football and not at some combination of cow colleges.

Damn Chrome. You sound like Aints fans slopping up the Breesus Kool-Aid.

By all accounts he's a "nice" guy but that whole thing is a grey area at best when it comes to just being a fan. Letting your starting QB go play minor league ball through Spring AND Fall practice is a HUGE gamble for a coach who's livelihood depends on wins and by all accounts, NC State was set to have a pretty good team that year and he leaves to take Wisconsin to the Rose Bowl?? I can't see how that wouldn't annoy even the casual Pack fan. I'd like to hear two guns weigh in here. Maybe I'm reading this wrong.

I do know every time he's on tv on that "ask me about my dreams" commercial, he claims Wisconsin and not NC State despite playing 3 years there.

You know what? Fuck that guy. I'm pulling for Champ Bailey and Knowshon.

Wilson has done something right because every State fan still loves him and instead blames Tom O'Brien for the choice he made (though I see where he was coming from -he could have had 0 qb's if Wilson's baseball career blew up that spring and Glennon decided to transfer).

Basically, Russell Wilson guy can do no wrong in the eyes of State fans. Ever.

the fact that this is even a consideration gives lie to the entire notion of amateur athletics in the NCAA.

I pussed out on the Denver bet...let's see if the under bet holds.
...not looking so good after that 2nd half return.

Eli's shit-shine aura is wearing off on his big bro.
Looks like an Elway-era SB.

Disappointing considering the hype. It's already comedic in the 3rd quarter.
Best offense in NFL history? The Seattle defense surely showed up to put on a show.

Eh, go Hawks?

Either way, I'm still up a few G's after the past few years.
Still a disappointing SB from a competitive standpoint.
I've been more emotionally invested in preseason games.
