RIYL?

Wild Nothing is the solo project of Virginia born Jack Tatum, whose music is the product of an unhealthy obsession with nostalgia. Equal parts teenage wasteland and inexplicable regret, his songs are the kind that could only be made by the young at heart. Unlike the current herd of one-man bedroom bands, Tatum creates complex textural environments that aim for something higher. Melodies that yearn to stay with you. Warped interpretations of Johnny Marr’s guitar work and The Cure’s careful synth arrangements. Dreamy, catchy, and intriguing. Here’s to missing your youth.

don't fret over it - the album is shite, and i'm probably the biggest petty fan on the board

it's damn near completely unlistenable

i guess it depends on how much you're into the whole middle-aged white guys playing old school blues kind of sound

because this has virtually no rock whatsoever

oh, and there's also a completely ill-advised stab at REGGAE

I kinda enjoyed the Mudcrutch record that was put out. Was hoping Mojo would be good.

Unfortunately, I have to agree...I LOVE Petty, but this is one miserable record. All the reviews I read for it were pretty stellar though I wonder if they're just giving him the legacy treatment at this point.

Campbell's got some good licks in there as usual, but this is one of the year's biggest disappointments.

We were going to hit up the Pittsburgh show to see DBT open...then we saw ticket prices. Overblown is a word for it.

Julian Lynch – Mare - 2010

Not really sure how to describe it. Nice, chill, lo-fi and folky album, and I love the guys voice.

I've only listened to a couple of songs so far. It's a 150% improvement on their previous record.
