I'm starting to see the entire series as a Horatio Alger meets Great Gatsby allegory- you can be anyone you want in this country, but you can never get above your raising or change from whence you came.

Man, all I could think of when Don was writing his letter was, this is Jerry Mcquire.

I keep thinking "when is Don going to fuck up this relationship with Dr Faye Miller?", Don is really the only dynamic character on the show and Betty is just pathetic.

I liked Cooper's exit "You there! Bring me my shoes."

I think the show works because of all the characters, and would be pretty terrible if it were just The Don Draper Show.

Agreed, but it seems to revolve around Don and that character has seen the most change in this season.

Oh and yeah, the Cooper quote above was incredible.

That was a great line. I may have to co-opt. I just love this show. By far, it's the best thing on tv for me.

I think if you took one character and built a show around it, it should be Pete Campbell.

You have to admit, Pete's been pretty much the only one hustling for SCDP this season though. He's infinitely more likable than he was in S1.

Roger is great comic relief but I now find him pathetic and indicative of the kind of people who ran the country into the ground.

I'm FINALLY all the way caught up. What a great, great show. Probably Top 20 all time, if not even a bit higher.

I'm still reeling from Betty firing Carla...WTF, you WASP cunt?!?

Pretty sure I've never hated any single TV character more than Betty Draper. Just an absolutely horrible human being with every fiber of her being.

Yea the Carla firing was clearly just to hammer the point home how unlikeable she has become (as if it was any question before). Poor poor Sally.

let's just hope that doesn't result in a very special "bobby rubs one out at a sleepover" episode next season

I saw Jon Hamm onstage at a comedy thing last night. He had the entire place in stitches and was loving it. Dude has some of the best dismissive facial expressions of all time.
